Coming from the northeast I would recommend the Brookhaven Marta station (I use the Sandy Springs station). It's on Peachtree Industrial Ave. across from Jocks and Jills. It's about 3 miles inside the Perimeter (I-285) and a mile or so west of I-85. $4 a day and patrolled by Marta cops.

Marta takes you directly into the airport ($1.75 each way). Delta also has a check-in counter in the Marta station (domestic flights only).

If you park at one of the perimeter lots you have to get a pickup in both directions, fight traffic getting to and from the airport (a real bitch trying to catch a Friday afternoon flight and God help you if there is an accident on I-85) and they charge about $9 or more per day.

You can read a magazine and take a stress-free trip to the airport.
Travel time from Brookhaven to the airport is about 35-40 minutes.
For me Marta is the only way to go when flying out of town.

Any Marta lot is easier than airport

If you have to use airport Thrifty or ant of the Camp CMreek lots area secmure and offer frequent shuttle service

MATRA is the best option

I like Park and Ticket with a coupon for 2 days free. Coupons are available on the website.

http://www.parknticket.com/index.htm

It is at the first light on Camp Creek parkway, and has constant shuttles.

It is worth it to be in my own car under my own control in a safe enviroment shortly after I leave the airport. They are efficient but sometimes full during mid week if you start your trip on a Tuesday or Wednesday.

I used to live near the Brookhaven MARTA station and used the secured parking. Sometimes I found they are full when I pulled in to use them and I was out of luck. Once or twice I got by parking in the free area but risk getting towed.

MARTA without a doubt. It pulls up directly at the airport.
