At 46 , my 2and marriage was over and I had the first of 3 heart attacks. this obviously got my attention and i started an excercise program, diet etc.I did not however change my stress level. I am in investment Banking & its difficult to lower the stess in this job .
Enter my second heart attack less than a year later.Again I did nothing about the level of stress in my life. I was trying to maintain a relationship

( not working) and still working 60-70 hours per week.No vacations , few trips worry worry worry.
3 years later the 3rd heart attack really got my attention. I moved to a small investment bank, with the understanding that I would have no set hours , no set income ,work how , where , when wanted, paid when I produced.

I sold my house , moved onto my boat , started taking trips ( mostly mongering

) 3 this year with 2 more planned.
Eight years or so later , I am healther , happier more relaxed than ever and suprisingly my income hasn't really suffered

I guess what i'm trying to say is enjoy what you have while you can . I was lucky , I got several wakeup calls. That doesn't happen for everyone .My retirement account has suffered , but i look at it like Travis McGee , I'm taking my retirement in stages as I go through the rest of my life.
