Hi,

I've searched and read all the threads on this hotel, and I understand it's a bit basic, but I think it will fit my needs (I'll post a trip report when I return).

Is it safe bringing a laptop there? And is there wireless in the hotel? Am I better off going to an internet cafe (I plan to use it to call home with VOIP, check e-mails, that sort of thing)?

This board sure has a wealth of information!

Thanks in advance!

Bill

The Johnson doesn't even have phones in the rooms. But I suppose they MIGHT have wireless internet. I'd be stunned if they do, though. Internet cafes are easy enough to find and cheap. They have a safe in the Johnson but I'm not sure how big it is. Unless you have some urgent need for your laptop, I'd leave it home if I were you.

Most people that stay at Hotel Johnson can't afford a laptop, you might be the first.

Stayed their several times and seriously doubt they have wireless internet much less a safe environment for your laptop. Would anyone from outside be able to get up to your room to steal it, nope. But I would not think it's a good idea to bring. If you bring it you probably can't use it there and you'll probably need to figure out a way to lock it up or to a piece of furniture.
