Sorry, not much drama in this thread.
I promised one of my fishing buddies (a pilot) to find out if aircraft were available for rent at the domestic airport in Pavas. A Google search wasn't much help, and a search of this board came up with a few threads describing recent plane crashes. Can any of you SJ residents help us out with this one?

Much obliged,

As a pilot (not for a living) I am curious. Are we talking about an individual with a private ticket or someone who flies the big birds for a living? Somewhere in between?

Berk....

You may have already seen this but they are out of the same airport in CR that you are looking for information on. They might be able to point you in the right direction.

Spanky,

I checked out the website. On Aerotecc's home page, "rent an aircraft" is mentioned, but no details to be found on any of the other pages. If aircraft rentals are available, I'm sure these are the guys who would know. Definitely worth reaching out to them. Thanks, for your help!

Blue.... I checked out the site. Looks like the smallest aircraft they have is a Cessna 210. Unless he has time in this aircraft they probably won't rent it to him. He'll know what I mean.

Berk,

Are you talking about the Cessna in the lower right hand corner? I believe those planes are only available for charter services...I did not see rentals mentioned. My friend owns a Cessna Turbo Skylane (Glass cockpit) at Van Nuys. He is checked out in single-prop Cessna aircraft (up to and including the Stationair).

I would love to rent in CR, however I would be afraid of the service to the aircraft. I bet they are not up to FAA regs. So let me get this right. Most of you would be willing to rent an aircraft in a third world country. Don't get me wrong I'm sure the charters are well maintained but renting Poco's duster down at the local grass strip....no way!

English is the international language in aviation. When you think about it there has to a common language or pilots would have to be multi lingual to fly international routes.
