Well after reading the thread about Spirit, it made check the current rate out of MIA for the dates and tickets I have already purchased 2 weeks ago. I bought my fare for $269.70 (tax included) then looked today at the same flight numbers and it was $209

So I thought to myself whatever, 60 bucks, then I thought I'd call to ask how I could be more aware of these drops in fares, after all, I did reserve a ticket 6 weeks in advance like a good boy.

Without hesitation the lady on the phone checked and instantly credited my card back $60 and I had the email confirmation in my office by the time I got back from lunch.

Good stuff AA

AA is good in that regard. TACA isn't when it comes to this. I tried and told, "sorry we don't do that..."

Cujo- good for you. I tried to do that with a flight next month from MIA to Memphis, but when I called (after the price dropped $60) the representative "Frank White" (King of NY?) said there would be a $100 fee so it would not make sense.

No idea-

I forgot to mention she brought up the idea of looking back and hooking me up. I didn't even ask...

I have gotten credit from AA numerous times when prices dropped. As long as your origional intineary is avilable for same dates they will credit differnce. Don't know if any outher airlines do that but would be good to know.rbc100

Same here!

AA has always been very good to deal with when it comes to refunding the fare difference, should it come down. YMMV.
