I would recommend NEW WING, you will not be unhappy with any of the rooms..

So ask for a Standard Deluxe or a Junior Suite in the new section.

I was in El Dorado upstairs in the new section. Nice kingsized bed and nice TV with a porno channel. Bathroom's good, the only thing no view outside just a tin roof. I would like to stay in a Junior Suite only $10 more but none were available.

I've stayed in both Hermosa and Mirador, both in the new wing. Hermosa is right up the short staircase in the back of the bar/restaurant. I remember it being a very large room with a king size bed. The bad part is that I don't remember too much else after swilling about 10 rum and cokes :( I think I phucked a girl in there but, alas, I can't remember, the sheets WERE messed up but so was I. When I returned from Jaco I stayed in Mirador, located on the third floor. This was a smaller room but still had a king size bed. It had a really nice bathroom and a great view of the street behind SL and the back of the zoo (see photo #6546 for a shot looking out the window). The only thing I did not like about Mirador is that it is right off the staircase and elevator, so you can hear everybody coming and going.

For my upcoming trip in October, they have me in Del Mar and El Dorado, also in the new section on the third floor. These will be farther from the stairway so should be less noisy. We'll see.

All in all, SL is a great place to stay with good people hanging out and a really wonderful staff.

I would recommend "Amante" in the 2nd floor or "Las Palmas"in the 1st floor, both in the new wing.

BTW KerosenFlats, regarding an elevator, you must have the SL confused with the Presidente, Del Rey or some other hotel because the SL does not have an elevator.

Also, there's only one room in the 3rd floor of the SL's new wing. It's a really big one.... it's the "Penthouse".

Amante is nice, El Dorado was my favorite. Ilusion is too close to the bar too much noise too early in the morning and at night. Mirador was OK except for 2 freaking dogs just outside the window barking for no apparent reason.
