Where were you about 6 months ago when I was having trouble figuring some of this stuff out? Great advise Pacifica55.

I might add that if you are going to leave a long post, that you type it in something like Microsoft word and then copy and paste it into this forum. For some reason spending to much time here will time you out and you will loose everything that you type. Others including myself have has this disheartening thing happen.

Now,, if someone can explain how to get the Avatar thing to work I would put Mucho Gusto to shame by changing them out all the time. I am not computer illiterate, but this Avatar thing has me stumped. I plan on grabbing a brother or two over to the computer over Labor Day and asking them to slap me in the head and show me the obvious that I am not seeing.

P55,
Good post for newbies, as well as of the elder statesmen.

Also, another thing I've noticed is that sometimes when people quote another member, the quote doesn't appear in the white box, but instead you'll see the text with BBcode like this:

[ quote="Orange" ]the text they are trying to quote[ /quote ]

(I also added spaces to show the text.)

Admin, or anybody else, does anybody know why their quotes don't show up in a white box? Is it something having to do with their settings?

Check your profile settings:

HTML is OFF
BBCode is ON
Smilies are ON

These settings will make the difference. Also you can experiment with the quotes now with BBCode versus HTML settings. Also, when you use the Function "[Quote]" on the upper right hand of the post, you can have a different reaction depending on this boards settings by Admin1.

Yeah, Florida.... Where is that trip report... I want to know about those big breasted hotties that were all over your ass at the HDR....

My question is "How do I add emoticons throughout a text I have written and completed?" When I add them, they just go to the end of my post and are not placed where I wanted them to go... I know it works if I place them as I write my post, but it seems stupid they can't be edited in.... :?: :?: :?:

Only way I know how to add an emotican after you have typed the whole message is to go back to where you want to insert the emotican copy from that point, delete the post at that point, insert the emotican and then paste the copy back. I know that sounds confusing it is really very simple but difficult to explain.
