Guys,
First of all, can we dispense with the judgements "moron" or even worse, "victim?"
Secondly, can we please do away with the artificial distinction between booze and nicotine (legal drugs) vs. marijuana and cocaine (illegal drugs)? I have to laugh when anyone cops a morally superior attitude about drugs when they have a Crown and CocaCola in one hand and a cigar in the other.
As BKTuna points out, these substances and more are readily available in C.R., and no, you don't need to know the names of the street scum to get them. I have been offered blow to go along with my blowjob more than once by the chicas themselvves.
Here are some scary facts to ponder. Statistically, more people die from alcohol and nicotine than die from all illegal drugs combined. Secondly, no one has ever died from cannabis overdose; contrast that with common aspirin, which kills a few hundred folks every year.
Addiction an hereditary disease? As Psychman says, the research is not at all conclusive, although the Ch*ld*en of alcoholics show a higher percentage of incidents of alcoholism than the offspring of non-alcoholics. Complicating this is the fact that coke is incredibly psychologically addictive, even for a "recreational" user, but is not, I repeat not, physically addictive. The same cannot be said for nicotine or booze.
Finally, even casual cocaine users are in grave danger in C.R. not because of lack of purity of the cocaine. In fact, the opposite is true. The coke in C.R. is ether washed (not petroleum washed) and tests out at 82% pure (pharmaceutical cocaine HCl as used by oral surgeons, etc.) is around 86% pure. The best I've read about in the U.S. is around 80% pure. Add to its purity the fact that even at gringo prices, it's 1/5 the U.S. price. Bad drug, bad situation.
Yes BKTuna, if one has existing chemical abuse issues, these may only get worse in C.R. Having been there, done that, I can personally attest to the seductive power of this drug.
Ever wonder why there's so much "good blow" in C.R. and so cheap? Blame the so-called "War on Drugs," which has created a bottleneck in the supply-consumer chain from Peru, Colombia and Bolivia. "The blow stops here" in C.R. largely because of international efforts to control the flow.
It's easy to die in any number of ways in Costa Rica; traffic accidents, violent robberies, jealous boyfriends, AIDS and of course, hard drugs and alcohol. Please moderate your use of all drugs, legal and illegal, and obey the law. Your vacation will be healthier andsafer, and more fun too. Ever try to screw after doing blow all night? Lemme tell you, no amount of Viagra will resuscitate the cold coke worm that will take th place of your penis.
What I want to know is this: Is the guy a CRT member? If so, somebody should send flowers.
