I am thinking of spending $1200 for a week on pu*sy, accomodation, food etc etc, except flight. And don't make smart ass comments please. There is a 1st time(newbie) for everything in life. As for everyone else, thanks for your help. I appreciate it :D

You can get by, spending that much money but your expectations should be at a lower level. Yes, you can get real cheep hotel rooms, you can eat at KFC everyday and you can go after 3-4's rather than 8-10's but then I would say, "Why go then"?

I don't go down there and throw money around, but I am sure going to have a good time and stay at a nice hotel. I have spent time with girls up and down the scale and have found the the most fun can be had in the 6-7 range. There is nothing wrong with having a budget, but my advise would be to have a little reserve.

Read the board and use the "Search" button at the top of this page. There is a wealth of information here.

1) I want to go now but I hear the weather is too hot there. Is that true?
2) Are there casa particulars(homes for rent) in San Jose? I don't want to spend too much on accomodation and want to bring girls home.
3) How expensive is food and clubs etc?
4) How much do average Costa Rican make a month? I am talking to a few girls on the net and want to impress them financially when I go there.

Thanks in advance[/quote]

O.K. Let me say this: I did very well on U.S. $600 to $700 for a week, excluding airline and my timeshare exchange. The flight was about $370, and the timeshare exchange (3 bedroom house-style condo) was about $200.

Eating: I eat where the locals eat. This included the Central Market.
Renting: I join my Brothers, and suggest that you get a hot room.
Food & Clubs: I didn't do any clubs.
Avg. Income: This is not truly relevant.

With respect to the last item, treat the girls like you would want to be treated. The fact that you are North American and can travel to another country already identifies you as having more disposable income than 75% or more of the world. To flaunt such a thing argueably subjects you to a possible attack, and I mean the mugging type. Leave the net girls alone. Personally, I tell girls that I meet that I am a student. Yeah, right, a student of life. One girl that I met asked me, point blank, if I was a professor. I just smiled. She was poor, but far from stupid. At the same time, she was good to me, didn't ask for anything, and enjoyed the time that we spent together for a few days. Seriously, I was well aware that not many ticos treat her to dinner often and appear concerned about her. There was no need to rub my "status" in her face.

I hope that this helps.

Berk/ Pacoloco:

let's look at a possible scenario:
a guy is surfing the net comes across CRT takes a look thanks that's interesting but I don't have the time or money so let me move on. Two years later the above-mentioned individual has time money and incentive so he goes back for closer look. Not unlike many people visiting the site has no desire to spend three or four weeks reading all this stuff so he asked a couple of questions. Questions I may add numerous new people have asked who also did not want to spend weeks reading all this stuff.

What does he get. Ignored , a plight suggestion for a reading list are beat over the head with a big stick. He got the big stick. Now guys you know you two are on my A list for people to hang with and Costa Rica but I got to tell you sometimes you come off as CRT snobs. 8)

Gosh Lee I'm hurt :( good thing you're around to keep us in line and come up with scenarios. 2 pages so far hardly looks like the poor guys questions are being "ignored". Berk just got back from CR so he should be in a better mood & quit banging people with his big stick, and maybe you are past due for a trip to put you in a better mood. And I'm not a snob if, I was I'd probably point out Cuestions is spelled with a "Q"

 I'm an old man and sometimes I don't have a lot of patience with you young people. Good to see you've not lost your sense of humor. You're right about Berk he should be in a better mood makes me think maybe he was more serious about that bartender than I thought. Even the smart one slip up once in awhile. I noticed the misspelling of question myself. One of the reasons I read the thread to start with. Makes me wonder about his point of origin.

I'll be in a better mood come August I'll be off this nonstop assignment and free to head south for 10 days or so. That's the last time I accept a job like that I'm too old and it's time I start admitting it. Not acting like it just admitting it. Is it August yet?

I'm with Paco.... whatever he said. Personally, I'm in a great mood. Yes, I am off an 8 night trip and one of the best... as always... well except for the time I was sick 3 days and had to go to the hospital and then there was the rash thing that finally cleared up after several layers of skin came off. Oh, I almost forgot the cholera like diarrhea one trip. That's where I picked up the name "culo fuego". The cheap CR tp didn't help matters. Then I remember the time the chica tossed her cookies all over me... hey, it wasn't my fault I was hung like a torro and gagged her to the point of regurgitation. Ok. ok... I digress.

I have little patience with a question(s) that I consider immature or flat out lazy. I admit it. I talk to hookers and phuck hookers, but I do respect them. Mind games like trying to financially impress some chica, hooker or not, thinking that's gonna get you somewhere is boyish. It reflects on all of us as gringos. I'm not much into spoon feeding Babi*s let alone those who have been registered on this board for over a year. That's just me.

First of all, Sammy. don't take smart ass comments too seriously. Especially when you are admitting to a bunch of guys that you are pre-planning a lie. You sorta had this one coming as soon as I saw your post. To try to impress these girls financially would involve alot more than just talk. There are guys that show up and take em to the beach and stay in a 5 bedroom house for a week or Tabacon for a week. Guys have bought these girls houses and cars for Christ's sake. Talk is cheap.

And Berk, I agree with what you are saying when he says he wants to "Financially impress them" is a little boyish. There really is no reason to do that but don't you agree that there are guys down there (not necessarily CRT'ers) constantly lying and trying to impress one way or the other. These girls know these guys are lying but they don't care....its all business as you know.

I have spoke to guys who admit they are playing games..."I work for the government"....I am rich, etc.... (By the way, the best one I ever heard was "I work for the CIA....I said, thats original..He said "CIA is "Cun* Interested American")

Question is "How does this guy saying he is worth a shitload of money reflect bad on us?" It doesn't. Hell, it makes me look better if he gets caught lying. Let him go there, it will probably get boring for him anyway, and he will play a different angle when it does....Doesn't make me look bad..I'm not lying.

Later

Berk, the reason I am asking questions is I have never been to this site since I joined. I usually check www.worldsexguide.org but they reminded of this site. My plan was originally was to go to Havana but I hear there is too much hassle with the cops nowadays. By the way why does everyone in here has Costa Rica flag with their name?
