I am sure Mucho Gusto knows about this place, so with apologies to him, here goes.
Yesterday, coming from Las Vegas to SJO via FLL, I found myself with a 5 and a half layover in FLL. Looked around and saw that there wasen't too much to do at the airport. Stopped an older TSA guy and asked him if he knew of a good resturant near the airport. He got me a taxi and told the driver to take me to the Rustic Inn which turned out to be about a mile off the airport.
Very pleased with the food (king crabs, butter, cole slaw and fries), the serive and the price. Nice way to kill a couple of hours if you are connecting to CR on Spirit thru FLL.

Hey Steve,let's get to the IMPORTANT part of this thread. WHY did you have a 5 1/2 hour layover?Was it another horror story on Spirit or did you know about the layover beforehand?

Bob;
I knew about it but was trying to save a buck. Overall, the flight and service was pretty good. All on time. Would use 'em again.
