I'm going to be in Jaco June 24 thru 27th - want to do some fishing ( and mongering, of course) I'll be going with friend who has been several times - He says we 'll just figure it all out when we get there (my first time) - You can see from me being on this site, that I like to do my research and planning before I get somewhere

So...any hotel recommendations ?

The Cocal is very good. I liked it there. Nice rooms, good food, and a nice pool. The green (rainy) season rate in June should be pretty good @ $65-70. The in-season rate is $110.

Thanks Orange

I just read your CR for Dummies...it is very good. Do you have any specific info like this for Jaco - especially as realtes to mongering?

Cocal Casino- Been to the casino but never stayed there. Got a nice pool and no chica fee last time I heard. Appears to have no TV or Phone. I kinda need a phone to communicate with my chicas.

You may also want to look at Copacabana a CRT sponsor, and my personal favorite Hotel Poseidon.

Avoid the Best Western.

Jaco is pretty simple, as far as mongering goes. There's nothing happening during the day. Use the day to get some sun, do a tour, and check out some of the good restaurants. Some guys will tell you that the beachside bars have daytime action, but I've been there a few times and have yet to see any. Nightime, you have the Beatle Bar, which is Jaco's version of the Blue Marlin. On any given night there's a good selection of all kinds. Prices tend to be higher than the BM since most of the girls won't budge off $100. The party starts around 9pm. After midnight, there is the Monkey Bar where the working girls usually go if they still are looking for work. Even later in the night, there is Nacho Daddy's.

To follow up with what Orange had to say, Jaco is definitely slower during the day. However, I have taken a chica from the Bohio bar during the day with no problem. Of course, they are far fewer women to be had, but the opportunities do exist.
