Good news and bad news. We all (hopefully ) are in favor of severe punnishment for men who physically or emotionally abuse women. The purpose of the bill is to control the "Macho behavior" which is prevelent in the Latin culture. However the Government may have gone too far in initially passing this bill that has ben kicking around for 8 years. Included in the bill is a sentence of between 6 months and 2 years for a man who "ridicules or freightens his female". Imagine the possible ramifications to a monger who is accused or this by his "temporary female" afater a P4P encounter. Given the proven ineptitude of the Costa Rica judicial system, I shudder to think of the problems that are possible. Article is in todays AM Costa Rica.

I'm gonna go read the article...BUT just from the info in the post this would make me nervous about p4p in Costa Rica. I'm sure that you wouldn’t have anymore problems than before but this could seriously phuck up your ability to argue with a puta if say suddenly after the session she says you owe her another cien (or more). You kick her to the curb after paying the original price and suddenly SJOs finest are knocking and she says you called her a whore and is humiliated....

That’s an extreme example of course, but just another thing to worry about, and once this gets around among the girls it is a definite big time ace up the sleeve for them.

I know nothing about the way the law works down there but it will be interesting to see what kind of enforcement this receives and if they can repeal that verbiage if it is being abused.

Oh well be careful fellas!

With all of the discussing and bitching about dealing with girls for the GFE, this is just another reason why I will do all of my business in the established massage parlors. No fuss, no muss and no police.

This certainly is scary, vague legal language. I`ve had to get firm with a few chicas that tried to upsell demanding "propina" to fulfill the prearranged agreement, some have left unhappy when I refused to pay upfront, a few other minor problems. In in Costa Rica they can hold you without bail for up to 6 months without bringing charges, from what I`ve read.

Think about the caliber of the working girls...and how many guys here have dealt with chicas who do not have a high intelligence quotient and have operated with a complete disregard of reasonability, sanity, and or respect.

We can wait and see which gringo gets to feel the wrath of the Costa's judical system.  I hope it's not me. Costa Rica jails are not for the weak of heart. As was pointed out if this rule gets use on us by the chicas I see major problem for the P4P population as I rather stay my ass home and deal with my parole office [girlfriend] instead of spending quality time with Juan and Pedro in Costa Rica.

Hey with all our flaws in the states, at least there is due process and no law I can think of so subjective and bizzare. "Ridicule or frighten"???

And what happens to a woman who ridicules a man? No provision for this. Crazy!!!

As the years have gone by, I've watched the change in many Costa Rican women as they get more and more like American women. Just check out Escazu during the day as the nice cars drive by with tattooed young women at the wheel, talking on their cellphone with one hand and smoking a cigarette with the other, with their silicone bouncing as they hit the numerous potholes. Ten years ago a woman at the wheel was a rarity.

The times they are a changin' in Costa Rica. It's getting to be time to move on down the line. Peru? Brazil? Paraguay? Nicaragua?

Well would this be the case that most of the Ticas driving are the women we are paying for a good time? Can the average non-worker afford these things? If they can, then they dont truly need us and we should move on.

But as for the countries you list, Brazil is probably already overrun and already feminist with the same laws, Nicaragua mostly native Indio types with little Caucasian blood, and Paraguay the opposite with mostly Caucasian blood.

I like Costa Rica because the women have a good mix of both Caucasian and native blood, making for good physical features facially while retaining that passionate fire inside and tight pu*sy of the Indians.

But that's all over now.

These girls make a good living off of us,does anybody realy believe they would want this easy money to dry up.This law was not written for p4p. I remember the original thread dealt with relationships. Maybe you gentlemen who live there have something to think about(i doubt it) but the true monger again i doubt it. If a girl were to threaten this, she probably wouldn't work again at DR or any other establishment. No work =no money, no cars etc. In fact other girls would probably kick her ass.Another point to consider, would this law be enforced if a working girl client dispute. Again i think not. it will be interesting to see if any chica brings this up. We could always monger in friendlier waters, we have the options and the money. One more thing ,is this law for costarican women only or any women in the country.

Well, considering that most of these girls don't consider the future past an hour from now, the ones that would use this could give a phuck about what kind of "name" they would be giving Costa Rica or themselves.

Like I said, this was an extreme example, but I also have had to get quite firm with a couple of chicas who wanted a big upsell both during and after a session. I'm not talking firm in that sense

It's the very vague language that scares me and from what I learned from an ex pat friend of mine who lives down there, Costa Rica does not have a bail system.

I'd hate to run into Juan and Pedro myself, Instead of wanting a propina to check your blood pressure they would be giving free prostate exams...no propina needed!

Mambo man, i read the article and agree its very vauge.I just don't think it was written with p4p in mind. Will i be more careful, yes. If i hear 1 chica mention it my buiseness will go elsewhere.Imagine what the DR would look like with all girls and no mongers.I still dont see the difference in a MP and an indy. Whats to stop a MP girl from saying you insulted and or frightened her.

Yes, be afraid, be VERY afraid. I am one of the clueless ones who aren't going to lose any sleep over this, but this is just a character flaw of my own. Right-thinking Gringos should DEFINITELY avoid Costa Rica at all costs. In looking for an alternative destination, I would suggest Afghanistan or Iran for example, where men don't need to worry about creeping feminism and it's nefarious threat to male survival.
