I know a whole slew of you are gonig to be here for the weekend. I wish you all the best in efforts to enjoy the fruits of as many chicas as possible. I was going to wait untill monday to post this, but what the hell. local news station repretel, chanel 6, reported tonight the capture and deportation of 5 suspected terorists connected to al-quaida. I have been of the opinion since 9/11 that Costa Rica should be a pretty safe place to live. I mean who could be upset with a third world catholic country with a population of maybe 3-4 million. It seems these guys went from Cuba to Nicuaragua to Costa rica. Makes one wonder. Does the word BALI come to mind. Talk about a soft underbelly. I won,t even go there. Make your own conclusions and stay safe.

well, just remember that one of the guys that the NSA 'caught' in their 20 or so arrests so far was a guy who was going to bring down the Brooklyn Bridge with a blowtorch. If you want to be totally safe from 'terrorism' I suggest Antarctica... but how to get there....

Relax, they weren't there to blow anything up, they were there to get blown. Rag heads like to get laid before they martyr themselves so that they have a little sexual experience before deflowering those 72 virgins in paradise.

Yeah, but I'll feel safer in SJ (San Jose) than here in SJ (South Jersey) where Albanian and homegrown terrorists were prepared to use all of Fort Dix for target practice...

Sad but true. It can happen anywhere, generally I don't think much of it.

Those guys went to CR because they knew that convincing 72 virgin to give it up would be to PH**ing frustrating so they banded together and tried to win the sloppy seconds awards at the dungeon.

Besides after a trip to CR every man wants to live to see the next trip back to CR.

Unlikely they were going to do anything in CR, but you never know..... They seem to plan in soft places like Hamburg Germany etc and CR seems like a soft place for them, but you can not live your life in fear of them or make your plans on what they might do.... or else they have won.

Just curious:

Not wishing to fan the flames of paranoia: I'm curious is there an Islamic community in San Jose. My limited understanding of this phenomena is that they're usually must be a pre-existing community to shelter the perpetrators during their planning phase.

Lee, there should be muslim community in SJO but I don't think it's large.
The cluster of it would be near the Panamanian border around Paso Canoa. Most of the larger shops there ( on the Panamanian side ) are owned by Arabs, and there are muslims residing on the tico side as well. I visit the Golfito area quite frequently so those middle eastern folks and arabs are no news to me and the local ticos.

Haven't seen any hadrcore type muslims walking around Canoa though. Most of the owners are very wetsern looking in terms of attire.

One of those stores already set up a branch retail outlet in downtown SJO last year.

I am sure CIA or other security folks are aware of that. Anyway Panama should have a larger muslim community than CR. From what I have seen and told, more and more Arabs and Iranians are moving to Panama to have businesses, wholesale and retail stuff.
