I havent tried it yet but i will be trying out Bubba's Tacos also in Jaco heard that was really good too.

I don't know if it's still around but on my first trip 2 years ago, we ate at Jaco Taco. A few blocks down from BB, right on the corner. Dirt cheap, and probably the best quesadillas I've ever had.

Your hotel room especially if it has a well equipped mini bar that is unlocked. :P

If you had 3nights in San Jose, and wanted different food every night, what are the 3 restaurants you would choose?

Here are my 3, but as always YMMV:

La Esquina de Buenos Aires--Argentinian steakhouse (10% CRT discount w/ card)
-very good steaks (recommendation: beef tenderloin w/ mushroom sauce)

La Princesa Marina--seafood
-excellent seafood (recommend: ceviche is AWESOME!)

The above 2 would be on my list as well.

There is a few I'll add

Olio - restaurante ad pub- it's almost like a cheaper version of La Esquina, but with a bigger menu and food is very good. I was there 2 weeks ago, both fish and their Olio lomito were excellent. It's in SJO not far from San Pedro. The place is a must visit for me.

Tiquicia- it's on the hill side Escazu. Got great view at night over looking the city. You can just grab a couple beer and sample some Tico Bocas if your budget is tight, worth going IMO if you only have 3 nights in SJO , a great way to wrap up your CR visit. Food drinks not expensive there . Ram Luna is another pick for scenic dinner, but I like the coziness at Tiquicia.

I have to agree. On this last trip I was with my favorita and I asked her where she wanted to eat. Anywhere... Next thing I knew we were off to KFC.

Ram Luna. Food is decent but the price is high. Taxi will cost you an arm and a leg. Service excellent, live music , good wine list, and the best view from any resteraunt in SJ. Its definetely a must do.

EDIT= Missed the 30.00 in your original question definetly count this one out. The taxi there and back would run over that mark.

Tiquicia, already mentioned, and Pico Blanco Inn. Both are in Escazu offer great views, much less expensive taxi ride and reasonable prices. Was at Pico Blanco on Saturday night and dinner for two, no alcohol was $20.00 total.
