So any recomendations on restaurants?

If you had 3nights in San Jose, and wanted different food every night, what are the 3 restaurants you would choose?

Cost is always a consideration, but I like good food. So 30bux is fine. What's the best grub available?

Thanks in advance!

Black.....

If you are a beef man you have got to go to the place in Escazu that Vegas Bob recommends. If he doesn't respondto this post PM him. Best beef I have ever put in my mouth in SJO.

Berk....

Here are my 3, but as always YMMV:

La Esquina de Buenos Aires--Argentinian steakhouse (10% CRT discount w/ card)
-very good steaks (recommendation: beef tenderloin w/ mushroom sauce)

La Princesa Marina--seafood
-excellent seafood (recommend: ceviche is AWESOME!)

Costa del Sol--pasta/pizza (10% CRT discount w/ card)
-the spaghetti was pretty good
-the chicken parm is good I hear

It is only available for lunch but in my opinion Delicias Del Peru is the best restaurant in San Jose just up street from Zona Blue Nothing like lunch and a massage of vice versa.rbc100

Yes that is the name of the restaurant Berk mentioned. Escazu is about a 20 minute cab ride from the gulch.

The interesting thing about restaurants is that opinions are so subjective. I can and do forget Fogo-Brasil easily. I think it is wildly over priced for mediocre food.

YMMV

So true, I cringed when I saw Costa del Sol recommended  although I do grab a lunch there every trip wouldn't consider it a must-do. And ID for us "tourists" Fogo is really a bargain since it's half the cost of the ones here in the states.

IMHO

Italian Ancora still provides a Great variety in an nice cozy envorinment

La Esquina is a great place to

Try Bakea located in Barrio Amon different and extremely interesting selection and presentation of food..

Lunch
Soda Peru
Machu Pichu
Top my list...
There are many more but a few selections from me.

I take it that Barrio Amon is where the Amon Plaza is??? That's where my wingman and I are staying.

What exactly is so interesting about the presentation?
Makes me very curious.

I travel quit a bit within the US and am always looking for good restaurants where ever I go.

I really really love food. One of life's great joys for certain.
