Flew Sprit to SJO 4/19 returned 4/23. Check in at Fll was a breeze, uneventful flight arrived SJO on time. Check in at SJO took a little longer (the Tico way), but no problems. Uneventful flight arrived on time.

Thanks for the info. I will be using Spirit for the first time on June 5. The first time to CR I was on Delta and after two hours on the tarmack, the flight was cancelled due to a mechanical problem. It was a phucken nightmare trying to get back home. 7 hours in the CR airport including a four hour wait for our luggage, no Delta people in the airport to assist us and then having to carry our luggage back outside and then return through security and customs again. Had to stay overnight in Atlanta because of the late hour getting in their. I have thousands of air miles with Delta and now I am hestitant to use them. What a shame as Delta used to be my favorite prior to going into bankruptcy. The trip to CR was still well worth the trouble.

Thanks for the update on spirit, I fly on May 19th, sure looks like an easy and inexpensive way to go.

Flew Spirit ORD-FFL-SJO Monday 4/30. Trip went off without a flaw

Arrived Terminal 3 Ohare 0400 for check-in, four agents on duty and no line... agent told me on the 0600 flight 1 to 1 1/2 hours is usually plenty of time for check-in. TSA security in Terminal 3 L concourse didn't open until 0500.

Flight out of gate on time and quickly airborne plane full, sat in 6C with the A&B occupied. Tight fit, but I'm a big guy...not bad for the 2+ hour flight.

Arrived H2 FFL ; departed H7 no problem except terminal full of people and $7.25 turkey sandwich to go. Out of FFL on time with plane about
90% occupied. sat in 5C, again 3 across.

Arrived SJO 12:10, 10 minutes late...but NO LINE in Migracion and both checked bags deliered within 15 minutes... Thru customs and out the front door with 3 bags by 12:35PM...not bad !

Overall satisfied with service and VERY satisfied with price...$200 less than AA & Curently shortest transit time from ORD available - 7 hours.

Hope trip back it ORD in June is as good

Today booked 6/3 - 6/7 on spirit for 598 dollars TOTAL for 3 seats: me and dos hijos. Yes on the late incoming and the red eye back but WTF why not

not the best flight times but the price just can't be beat. Too bad I live in Mich. If I lived near FLL I'd reserve a RT every month at that price.

spirit has some 44 dollar fares on selected dates in June out of FLL.

don't know if you have to be a member of the 9 dollar club to book or not.

but, before year end, I expect to see some similar fare sales out of fort lauderdale to SJO again.
