KC,
Whether to take a particular chica on a road trip boils down to your gut feeling of whether her company will add value to your road trip. I have paid from virtually nothing to $75/day for a traveling chica.
After 10 trips, I have garnered a small circle of favoritas in SJ...I know who to ask and not to ask.
For what it's worth, I fished out an old post which responded to a similar question asked of me by an esteemed member of this board. After you finish reading it, you will see that it is my feeble attempt to describe "gut feeling." (In my early days of posting, I would often take on the challenge of describing the intangible):

BD,
I will be taking a little 2-3 day beach getaway on my next trip in May and I will be taking a chica with me. I already have somebody and we've discussed it, and she seems excited about it so I think we'll both have a great time, but in case anything chnages between now and then and I need to find somebody else, what are some questions that you ask of potential travel companions during the interview process to find the right girl? Thanks.
Wow, Orange…I never gave much thought to formal documentation of the road trip interview process, but I will give it my best shot!
From my perspective, the road trip screening process includes my personal observations and assessment of the chica, not exclusively a line of questions. I want to ensure an enjoyable time for both of us; so, before I ask her to join me, I aim to answer the following questions:
1. Is she fun…and is she suited for the type of trip I am planning?
2. Is there any chemistry between us?
3. Is she relatively honest and trustworthy?
4. What issues will she need to deal with before and/or during the trip? (e.g. ch*ldcare)
If I have long, previous experience with the girl, I already know a little bit about her performance, attitude, family, living arrangements, interests and pet peeves. Based upon this knowledge, I can already answer most of the above questions without too much of an interview.
If I do not have an extensive history with the chica, I try to gauge the following before considering her as a road trip candidate:
1. Attitude and performance
2. Chemistry between us (or lack thereof)
3. Ability to communicate
4. Relative cost (based on at least a prior session or two)
5. Potential maintenance requirements (the opportunity for a date outside the bar will help)
In order to supplement my observations, I diplomatically ask her some basic questions, like the following, during the course of casual, low-key conversations:
1. Where are you from?
2. What clubs do you usually work at?
3. How long have you been working?
4. What are your sexual proclivities?
5. Do you live alone or with family? (potential help or distraction)
6. How many ninos/nenas…what are their ages? (potential distraction)
7. What are your interests (outside of work)?
8. What parts of CR have you visited? (Do you enjoy the beach, mountains, rainforests, etc?)
9. Have you ever taken a road trip with a customer before?
10. Who watches your ch*ldren when you are away on a trip?
I listen carefully to the chica’s responses and try to detect any hesitation or inconsistency. I like to get a feel for where she has been…and where she will be coming from. Based on her answers and my observations, I attempt to answer the questions listed at the beginning of this post. If my assessment is positive, I will say matter-of-factly, “Gee…I am planning to go to (wherever) the day after tomorrow.â€â€¦and wait for a reaction. If I sense some interest, I then ask her, “Would you be interested in joining me for a vacation?†Or, if I am not receiving any positive vibes, I will keep my mouth shut and look elsewhere. IMHO, it is better to go alone, than to be with a woman who is miserable!
I hope this helps, Orange. As always, YMMV, depending on your own set of requirements and circumstances.
PS: My apologies to Frank, in advance, for my part in hijacking this thread.

Whatever u do, if when u get there and the next day, or the day after, she turns into a gringa, ship her ass back on the bus--Ticas are very used to the bus----put her on the bus--not the plane. She'll cry and all that shit but screw blowing your vacation for a broad who is playing u for a chump. Maybe gently warning her of that before u leave SJ may help.
Very good advice that you can take to the bank...
