BRINGING AN OLD GRINGA TO COSTA RICA IS LIKE BRINGING A SANDWICH TO A BANQUET.

No, because you wouldn't eat the sandwich or road kill anyway, regardless of your hunger.

It's more like bringing Syrup of Ipecac to a banquet.

Think of it... you managed to break free of the Mrs. for a few hours. She's about to have her spa day, and you're off to Zona Blue.

Wife emerges naked from the shower. Miles of stretchmarks. Breasts aiming toward Tierra del Fuego. And God...that smell!

You gonna tell me he's gonna be able to enjoy the banquet after THAT purge?

Holy shite, what have I started ?

I remember my ex wanting a small pet to keep her company. Me being a smartass I bought her a baby skunk.
She says " He's so cute, but where will I keep him ? To which I replied, Keep him under our bed. Then she says " But what about THAT smell ?"
I said," LET HIM GET USED TO IT LIKE I DID!!!! :P :P :P

You guys are the bomb. I never thought I'd get so many heart felt feelings and advice. Believe me, I appreciate every reply. I just want to share my sad, sad saga with you guys. Now my wife is mad and I plan to come anyway. Looks like I may have to hide some cash or just blow it. I know I may look like a wimp but I feel pretty comfortable with myself. I love my wife and I never want to hurt anybody. I just now know what I am-an aggressive, self-absorbed, sex-craved, mongering, sweet, sensative, smart, successful loving guy. My little head just rules about 50% of the time. So she can sue me. I am really looking forward to this trip. I had a t-shirt made. It says CRT VIP. Hope to make some more new friends in person soon.

Lelaco,

My friend...please don't mistake my "that awful smell" comment as being aimed at Mrs. Lelaco. The comment was intended to be generic. :)

Re: Your trip. Good for you! Wish I could be there to raise a glass in your honor! :D Have fun in C.R., and do stay safe.

Paul

Hey Lelaco,

Just pm me if you need some pictures when you get back home to prove you spent all your time doing non-mongering activities!

Taking an ex-wife to a volcano seems logical to me.

Even if you loose the tickets, I wouldn't come with your gringa until the situation is resolved. Waste of money. Sounds like a typical gringa trick to leverage a trip for her. If you are separated, you should be able to go where you want. Discussing reconciliation is not a good reason to go to CR. Clear the air with her first or come by yourself. If the reconciliation is successful, go and celebrate, if it is unsuccessful go and celebrate.

The green giant is right on. It sounds like you're getting set up for some heavy Gringa Bull Sh*t. Don't take her. If you want to reconcile, this is not the place. You had this trip all researched for your personal R and R. Remember absence makes the heart grow fonder.............if she wants to reconcile, and you do too, I suggest talking about it after you return

I would go on the trip solo and discuss reconciliation upon your return.

If you do decide to take her to Costa Rica and decide to take the trip to Jaco, stop at the bridge just before entering Joco and you will see some really tame crocodiles in the river. They are very tame and like to be hand fed. You stand on the bridge for the purpose of picture taking and give your ex a bunch of raw chicken to feed the croc’s. The photographs will be PRICELESS! lmao

I know those crocs. They are very nice and freindly. This is the perfect solution to reconcilliation.

Take the trip solo as you have planned. Pay for it using jointly held credit cards. At the property settlment, it can be claimed as marital debt and she can be made to pay for half of it.
