Hola Amigos,

I am going to San Jose on the 19 to 22 of this month. I am going with a wingman who is dying to go to Jaco. I am not sure if I want to travel those couple of hours to get to a beach and possibly see no action. Anybody been there recently, if so how is the action, is it worth staying over night. I was in CR last year and wonder if the grass is greener on the other side.

Jaco is excellent for (nighttime) chica action. During the day, there are very few prospects.

The Beatle Bar has an excellent selection of girls, very similar to DR except their outfits are skimpier and shorter, anywhere from 20-50 or more on any given night. Be prepared to pay at least $100/hr, very few will accept less, unless you wanna Phuck chewbacca.

The climate is Jaco is probably the thing that people hate the most though, I know I do. During the day, it's VERY hot and humid. There is very little breeze, it feels unbearable at times. I sweat like a pig the whole time I'm there. At night, it's pretty much the same thing, maybe a few degrees cooler, but no less humid. The beaches are not very appealing, mostly black sand. I was once told that there are some white sand beaches further up the coast.

if i was you ....i would stay in san jose !! i to once had this desire to go to jaco...why not !! you read about here ..you will see new girls...you will see the beach...and it isnt that far away...with respect to the members who like jaco...i mean no harm...but for me it SUCKED !! i found no daytime action , it was hot as hell( i live in florida) ..make sure you have a hotel that lets you even bring a girl back to the room....didnt see any girls in M.B. until 8:30 most tried for 80.00 or higher and there were a few 8 and 9's but overall i seen more 5 and 6's...i made hotel rev. on line and once we got ready to check in ....i ask..it is ok to bring a friend back to the room...manager said ...NO .. i have wrote about me getting robbed in jaco before , so i dont want to write about it anymore ( part my fault) but in 9 trips to san jose i have never had a penny talken from me ...but 1 day in jaco i get my mp3, camera , and my watch taken off my wrist ...trust me stay in san jose ...

With all due respect to people who have been ripped off, the weather is too hot, bla, bla, etc in Jaco--this sh*t can happen anywhere. My choice is to get out of the city,SJO, and get away to the beach. I have been from Flamingo Bay to Playa Zancudo on the Pacific and Limon down to Puerto Viejo on the carribien...and I always come back to Jaco. Why?? Of course there are way many nappy headed hoes in SJ, but I like the restaurants in and around Jaco, guaranteed variety of panocha every night, tours, and nicer hotels. Different strokes for different folks.....but please don't judge the area by folks who have been there 2/3 times, cause they got no clue

As you have already read , the opinions on Jaco are all over the board. Love it or hate it I think it someplace to see at least once.

Having said that , I enjoy a couple of days @ Jaco. Hot & humid don't bother me . I guess it's a matter of personal tolarance. My luck @ the Beatle bar was good , make appts. in the evening for the next day .

Another venue is the pool around the Copa Cabana hotel eary to mid afternoon. there is some talent there. Also some has been reported at the bar @ Claritas though I did not see any there.

All in all , Jaco is a sleezy dirty beach town that for some of us holds some charm , good food, decent drink prices & hot chicas.

Jaco, except for the ugly ass beach is near nirvana for me. Hot weather, cold beer, good restaurants, nice hotels and muchas chicas in an open air bar. What more could you want?

ConanC,
I like Jaco, been there half a dozen times or so. Nice restaurants, shops, kinda fun to just walk around. The whole town is not very large, you can walk the entire main drag in 30 minutes.

You only have 4 days in CR but you could certainly get away for one day and see everything Jaco has to offer, then on your next trip you'll know if you'd like to spend more time there. I definately like the pool atmosphere around the Copacabana and there are girls that drop by to hang by the pool and hunt for us gringos. It's right on the beach and as mentioned, Clarita's is a short walk up the beach. A good bar to hang for a couple hours, they have great shrimp ceviche!

If you go just be extra careful. There are some bad elements running around Jaco and know where your money is as you cross the bridges over the water. Many guys have experienced pick pockets crossing. If you're interested in the Copacabana, I can give you Katia's email. She's the manager.

Whether you make it to Jaco or not, have a great 1st trip!

Was in Jaco this past Sunday. My ocean front room at Hotel Cocal saved me from the heat and humidity. 2:45 minutes in the Interbus. $19 each way. Once is surely enough for me. Gonna peep out Limon or flamingo next trip.

100% concur. As for daytime action, you can sometimes find it near the pool at the Copa. You will see many of the girls who have just finished a TLN in the restaurant in the morning for breakfast.
