I am starting a new thread just to get any information on a particular dentist...To those who know me and have replied to my earlier thread..My thanks.......

As I have stated before, I am having some serious dental surgery upcoming and just doing my due dilegence. (hope all understand)

I am already meeting with 1 surgeon in CR during my Mid April trip regarding a new dental implant technology and want another opinion with an experienced dentist in this procedure prior to finalizing my decision

For anone interested here is a link to the new procedure
http://www.ivanhoe.com/channels/p_chann ... ryid=13232

This is the Dr with experience in this technology

Dr Mario Garita

Thanks in advance for any info on the above

In an HOUR....

after nine of them i'd say wait 6-8 months before putting the crown & abutments in place. But wait...that means many more trips to the HRD,Oh I mean the doctor for a check up...

Seriously, the implant as to adhere to the bone to be strong. If I’m not mistaken basically it grows around the jaw bone. That is why some Demist use your blood ( in a machine) around the base of the implant to con-gel or something like that to the bone.

Beware of some of the problem with the screws coming lose

The four that Dr. C implanted are doing great . Not like the high priced demist I had in VB FL I had one implant fall out and he wanted to start over.. ya I started over, with Dr. C. @ prisma
For what the price of one costs here in the United States and I had four done in SJ and they all work just fine….….The only thing that got me was the 3/4 in. makita drill the Doc uses…… .

: If you do go and do it...the doc likes ten days each time, first to make sure the implant is going to hold...most important

Then to form and make the crown, so plan on staying ten days then.
Book early and go cheap is what i say....i mean frugal...

iggy... :P

Iggy

Thay is very interesting, as I had two implants done in 1997 (teeth # 7 & 8, front center) I only needed 3 months bone healing time before the permanents were attached. I have had zero problems in the ten years I have had them.

Not sure where yoyurs were placed, have heard that back teeth (chewing teeth) do take longer....As two of the thre I need are front teeth, could be a different issue.

Now I have #' 9 & 10 needed as well as some other work I am going to consult with Dr C & Dra R on my upcoming trip.

I have also contacted a 2nd for another opinion prior to making my final decision. Dr Mario Garita (specialists in the one hour and one day procedures)

http://www.adultdentistry.net/

I have meetings set up with both prior to making a decision, I will of course report back after my consultations and final decision.

Check this out, not even sure I am a candidate, but worth investigating.

Glad to hear the good report on your implants, I have been quoted less than
$ 5000 for the work I know I need (3 implants) vs my US dentist who I paid $5000 for 2 implants 10 years ago who now wants close to $ 13000 for 3...

Just a little concerned about that Makita Drill.....

My calculations even if I need 3 trips, I would be looking at not more than $ 12000 including travel costs, hotel/apartment and entertainment, plus a brand new smile......

I arrive on 4/18 for at least 8 days, will extend if needed as this is a miles trip (free).....If you are around 1st shot at the SL is on me.......I will probably need it :) :)

Thanks Again

El S
