Ok, I have stayed here but only in the outside section quite a few trips ago. I have been happy with my stays here, not quite the extras I look for when I stay at the SL or Amon, but for what it is, I have had no problems

Have a few questions of the brotherhood, probably should have investigated these issues on my last stay..but

What room does everyone prefer ??
Quietest ??
Wireless Internet Acess ??
KING SIZE BED ?? is very important as I rarely sleep alone (Novia..lol)
Do they provide room service via the new Garden's restaurant, a I may be laid up fo a few days ??

I am coming in for some major dental surgery and planning on staying either at Castillo, SL or the Amon, based upon price (I am looking at 13-15000 of dental work coming up) My other optionof course is an apartment/condo, but I thing I am going to want room service amenities available to me.

Any recommendations as to what room I should request if I decide on Castillo for my stay

Thanks in advance

El S

El,

Maybe I can help you with some of this:

1. Quietest?........Prabably the rooms in the newer rear section.

2. Wireless internet access?........Yes, Castillo has it.

3. King size bed?........Both rooms on the first and second floor at the extreme far end of the rear section have king size beds.

4. Room service from "The Gardens" restaurant?.........When I was there in Jan./Feb., Tom told me he was going to start this service.

My personal preference are the rooms in the rear section.

If I can help you with anything else, El....let me know. :)

To add on to Zebra's info....they also have a nice outside bar that opens in the afternoon.

My last visit had me residing in room # 22. Located in the new addition, upstairs and overlooking the zoo. Very quiet, view of the zoo below, I think I saw Ol Circus running through there grabbing food meant for the animals on several occasions.

El, since you are going to be on the mend, this may or may not be a big deal but the room does not have remote for the TV, inquire with Darren if you find this to be of importance.

My opinion of the hotel has gone up a lot due to the fact that I stayed in both the old and new part of the hotel and strangely perfer the older part as if is quaint and has better furnishing. It is also quieter. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. To me the hotel is one of the best places to stay in SJ, with the SL and Presidente also making the list. Oh yeah, they occasionally have a wandering woring girl that will stop by for a quickie.

Thanks for all of he replies, but due to the fact that I am going to be on the mend, have decided to stay this trip at the SL. I know Bill and his staff will take good care of me, as I have stayed thee before and am treated like family.

To echo many others on the board. I have stayed at the SL on mnay occassions over the last 2+ years and it is one of the finest run establishments in the San Jose Area
