Definatly go take a day trip and go white water rafting down the Paquare river. This was the best thing I did. It was so amazing, but you will be tired once you return.

For mongering purposes SJ is much better than Jaco & there is far more to do around San Jose & it's suburbs. Jaco is an ugly beach (black sand) smelly in many areas & hot as hell! You are limited in many ways in Jaco for meeting Latinas. Store & window shopping downtown has yielded decent results at times for me. If nothing else you have HDR & the MPs.

Jaco has a lot of beach bum burned out hippy types IMHO. Nothing wrong with this but it doesn't offer me much. Depends on what one is looking for.

Thanks for all the advice. I will heading down in April with a few of my friends. This will be a first time trip to CR for all of us (3). Can't wait and I promise to share when I get back.
