I am a Canadian who has never been to Costa Rica. However I am going to be relocating there. I am moving to Heridia for my work. My Spanish is limited. However I have lived and pooned in The Carribean for years. Any general advice as when I get settled I will definately whant a nice tica for fun and games. Thanks I know I am a real newbie hoping to learn. Any advice appreciated. All I know is Heridia is not that far from San Jose? Other than that I know next to nothing about this great country. I love Latin, Spanish, Black and Carribean women. P.S. I have done research myself however all the info seems a little like Greek to me. So please don't flame me for asking these questions. Everyone was a newbie once.

freaky,
Welcome to the board. Since you don't know much of anything about CR, I would strongly advise you to read as much as you can, and join as a VIP member. With your membership, you'll be entitled to discounts at many, many places all over CR. And as a resident, those discounts will add up quick.

There's so much info on this board, and knowledge is power. So, read as much as possible, and empower yourself. You're going to need all the help you can get. And since you're going to be living in CR, it'd be in your best interest to learn as much Español as possible.

Good luck, and welcome aboard.

Mucho Gusto

As good as this board is, if you are moving to Costa Rica, you really should do a little research beyond the scope of this site. You should buy or borrow a copy of Lonely Planet Costa Rica. There are other guide books you might look at, but that's my favorite. The first part of most tour books will contain a lot of general information. Beyond that, read up on San Jose and the surrounding areas, which includes Heredia.

Once you get a general idea of the country and locality, then a lot of what's on here will make more sense.

Freaky,

Welcome to CRT.

Search a topic by a gentleman named Mexpat. The thread is 'Living the Dream'. A nice orientation to CR, YMMV but, found it to be insightful for anyone entertaining the thought of living in CR.

Howdy Freaky,

Also, if you need clarification or have a specific question that you can't find the answer for, please ask. We're happy to help. Sadly, requests for general information will only get non-specific replies.

You say you want to find a nice tica for fun and games. Do you seek play-for-pay (p4p, i.e. prostitution) or are you looking to date/court a local non-pro?

Heredia is a lovely town, a half hour bus ride from the heart of the action in downtown San Jose. There seem to be no working girls in Heredia...but I'm probably commenting from ignorance and lack of experience in Heredia.

I strongly, and I mean strongly suggest that you begin to learn Spanish right now. You'll need it.

Buena suerte (good luck)!

Paul
