First time to Costa Rica. And to Jaco too. Is there any suggestions to "must see" and "must not"?

Definitely go to Manuel Antonio one day and enjoy one of the nicest Pacific beaches. App 1 hr away. Lots of day trips u can arrange with Lynch travel, Quepos, see website.

I really enjoyed the ATV riding up in the mountains. But a word of caution, DO NOT wear your good clothes, they will get very very dirty. That reddish clay is very difficukt to wash out. I ruined a new pair of jeans and sneakers. It just wouldn't come off.

The Canopy tour is another one that's very cool. But I would do it elsewhere, not Jaco. There's always a good hike up to the top where the first station is, and Jaco is very hot and humid. (Did I mention it was hot and humid? ) That hike up almost killed me. I lost 15 lbs of sweat on the way up. The equipment isn't heavy but you're wearing it as you walk up.

There are 2 canopy tours close to Jaco. We took the one between Jaco & Hermosa and they had a 4wd truck pulling a trailer to take us up in . the walk was less than 5 min. not too bad .Great viewa , 12 stations , would do again.

My canopy tour was also near Jaco, but we had to hike up a hill and then a LOT of stairs. The whole hike up took about 25-30 minutes with a brief stop for water. Everybody was ready to drop after that one.

I guess "hot & humid" depends on your perspective. Having lived most of my life on the Gulf Coast , New Orleans Houston , Clearwater Fl. I found Jaco to be fine weatherwise. It was very warm but not hot & untill you have lived in New Orleans in August & Sept. You really don't know what humid is .

Which public transport should I use to get to the bridge on Rio Tarcoles to see crocodiles?

Check out Jacos Tacos. They offer a salsa/salad bar with over 40 selections to build your own taco.

Jaco Taco is great. I ate there in June 2005 on my first trip. They have awesome cheesy quesadillas. And relatively cheap too. I wanted to eat there again last month, but forgot. Instead, we ate at some overpriced tourist trap (take your pick, there's many) .

Bubbas has awesome fish & shrimp tacos. Best I've had . I ordered 1 of each & they were to much for me to finish.
