Recently, I was in Bocas Del Toro, Panama...in a bar (go figure) and they had a Sirius Receiver playing the music in the bar. I live in Panama City, and one of the things I miss most is my XM.

Does anyone here know if XM and/or Sirius have expanded their signal to include Central America...or do you think it's just hit or miss where you can access the Satellites?

XM or Sirius don't need to actually be broadcasting in those countries in order to use the receiver. I don't know if this is the case but XM also offers free for all XM USERS XM Online.. If you have a decent speed Internet Connection you can use your XM receiver to tap into XM online and use that as the receiver... Its the same broadcast of the XM Radio only using the Internet.

In fact you don't even need an XM Receiver simply launch any web browser to the XM Online and logon.. you can hook up external speakers and play XM to your hearts content... Just an option I use when I travel....

You know...I must be smoking the cheap crack again...you're right...and the bad part is, I am aware of the internet version and a brain fart stopped me from putting 2 and 2 together...duh...

Sirius offers the same thing. (The only exception is that they don't let you listen to NFL games online. You gotta use the receiver for that.)

Announcement made earlier this month by XM is that Sirius and XM are merging to be completed by end of this year or early next year. Thats means Howard, Opie, Anthony and lil Jimmy Norton will all be on the same page.
