If he had stayed in the bar looking for girls, which is where he belongs, none of this would have happened.

What difference does it make that the guy is openly gay? Well, I'll tell you.

I've had contact with dozens of gay men (okay, okay...take the joke and run with it, butt holes). What I have observed is that men who are compelled to share their homosexuality with others, who have kicked down the closet doors and who are militant about gay rights are, well...annoying. They seem to believe several falacies:

1. Everyone is intrested in the fact that they're gay, and
1a. Everyone wants to hear intimate details of their sex lives or romantic struggles.

2. Their opinions, especially regarding style, food or entertainment are never wrong.

3. Straight men are either insignificant or potential butt-buddies.

I have listened to voices made artificially strident and feminine, screeching ill-considered opinions about everything from Martha Stewart to Iraq. Yes, Irish Drifter... I believe in this context that CTG wasn't gay bashing, just pointing out the very irritating behavior of a loud-mouthed queer who mistakes his "courage" at being openly gay for intelligence and validity of opinion.

El Ciego: that is exactly why I put in the he was openly gay. How can you try to describe someone and leave out the biggest part of there personality

Again CTG is correct . I have met very few gays do let everyone know that they are gay everytime I see them. This is a common theme with gays. They all have to let us know how proud they are to be gay and that divets their personallity into bashing other things. I never tell anyone I love women but no ever asks either. So in telling this story CTG let us all know where the other person was coming from.

But again, it's not the fact that the guy is gay, nor does it really matter what his politics are. Dude was rude.

Chief Thunderpants.... Point taken! Yep, at least at the Blue Marlin he would have been less likely to encounter loud anti-American gay men.

This has been my observation also. Most gays I have seen or known are what I would consider not emotionally stable people (just my experience anyway). Regardless rude is rude in any language.

Get caught taking a tourist tour again and you will be required to wear an ankle monitoring bracelet. A third offense is punishable by being chained to a bar stool in the BM.

Depends on what you go to Costa Rica for.

As wise man once said "Don't look for horse shit in a bird cage".

Did he really expect to find a do able chica on a horse?

Do you want political discussion, do you want to ride horses or do you want to explore 'alternative life styles'.

I suggest mongers stay in bars, massage parlors and other sleazy places the chance of finding a diamond in the ruff or much better.

Chi Town Gino- Don't listen to all the crap posted, you did the right thing, and I have to listen to all the anti-american bullshit from the Europeans in Cartagena all of the time. The anti-americanism from the Europeans is essentially based on two things: 1) the desire of the Europeans to control and be the dominate world power again, 2) The fact that we don't listen to their bullshit.

Well Done Chi Town Gino
