Sorry - I'll have to pass on that one.

Are you sure that you want to meet them ?!??!?! It's amazing, but in one sentence, you named off some of the fugliest members of CRT!!!
Good point. I’ve wondered at times, why would I want to join a club that would have me as a member?

You just have to wear something that totally stands out. See; red shoelaces! I stood out, and people automatically knew who I was, so I met tons of great guys
That gave me a grea idea.....I'll wear a fishing shirt. That should stand out :?

Next trip let me know when you are coming, or ask for me at the SL.
Thanks Bktuna, I will do that.

OFT;
Vegas Bob. The tall guy who looks a little like Bill O'Riley and speaks with a Boston accent.
Mucho Gusto. Could easily be described as a modern day Clark Gable (maybe 20 Lbs over Clark's fighting weight). Usually well dressed in some kind of silk shirt over pressed shorts. Also, a great tan.

Orange. Just look for a guy with a plaid wool shirt and a Syracuse hat.

Get Rhythm. Cool dude. Very LA/Hollywood. If he's not with a new chica every hour, it's not him.

Ruffnutz. Good looking Puerto Rican guy who shaves his head. Always in the company of his great (9) GF.

Latin Heat. Always at the side of Ruffnutz and his GF.

Muffdiver. Retired Army. VERY tall. Shaved head with glasses. Ruffnuts and Latin Heat are never far away.

Florida. Think of a modern day Jackie Gleason but better looking.

El Ciego. Carries a stick and quotes shakespear.

ID. A pleasant sort who agrees with most anything anyone says.

Wit. Full of information on air travel and card playing.

LVSteve (Me). Best looking guy in the room.

Hope the above is helpfull

Thanks LVSteve, this gives great advice on whom to avoid...um...err, I mean approach

Thanks Wit, that should narrow it down to about everyone I’ve ever met at the DR

Have you checked the "CRT VIP members with or without ladies" picture section? You'll see some of the guys there, even Circus without the beard!
I did recognize Admin1 one time when I was checking in at the Prez and had a quick chat with him. I’ve seen Don Gordo a couple of times marching between the Prez and DR, but never approached him as he appeared to be on a mission. Also, I did meet Zigmonger at the KL. He pulled out his digital camera and showed me some pix that would make Larry Flynt blush.

However we normally meet at the tables on the side of the lobby bar instead of the Monkey Bar side. (It's quieter and less smokey there) The meeting time is still 5-5:30pm most days. Often times guys will send me a PM before arriving and we make arrangements to meet for a drink and they get to meet some other characters
Durn, I’ve always been on the Monkey side of the bar. Story of my life. I now know where the officially sanctioned DR meeting spot is. Thanks VB.

Yes, I'm alive...
I guess it's sort of a 'rite of passage' to make a few trips without ever meeting anyone. I never EVER met a single CRT member until after Trip #3, and as my old wingman said, it was all she wrote after GR and I began tearing up the town as a dynamic duo.

Although there always seems to be a guy or two at the Del Rey during Happy hour, it's not what it used to be, where you'd get a crowd of 10+ to share great stories, laughs and JAGERBOMBS! Nowadays, I think that finding the CRT guys is a much easier task if you focus more on Sportsmans... seems I always see a handful of faces there consistently everytime I visit.

Anywho... Yes, Zip and Prolijo are real. I had Thanksgiving dinner with Prolijo just recently, and Zippy was confirmed to me through Texas&Vegas, who actually did a trip with him to CR... Not only that, Zippy actually saw me on a trip and described me to a "T", even what I was wearing, so I know he likes ot hang out in the shadows among all of us... both are a wealth of knowledge (though Prolijo's responses will always be in thesis-like format!) and should be considered among the wiser of us hobbyists...

Enjoy!

Well, in that case, how about some commentary on the "novia" thread from our most famous and current leading M-man??? :)

YO Identifying Members:

Times have changed over the course of the initial CRS and the now CRT when it came to knowing "who was in town." Six or seven years ago there were a number of incognito members that did their thing and winged it alone without support of a fellow member.

Before either group emerged via the internet it seemed to be a more exciting adventure for a gringo in a world of chicas and third world discoveries. There was something special about going it alone and being savy to the unexpected. Several characters who were in the original group would probably agree.

We all change regardless of our initial intent and habits. I use to be somewhat "stealth" but when the popularity of what all of us were doing begin to form a group.....hell, I relented and found another kind of fun with that.

Give credit to where it is due. I sincerely believe that the "getting together" as a group or identifying other members began with Dongordo's walking tours. We would first meet at the BM for drinks. He loved the turf he had walked in the "gulch" and wanted to share it with newbies in CR. Just as his predecessor, Tampagringo, he wrote of the country and the joys men could find there. T-gringo was a class act but did not physically indulge in what DG did as far as sharing .......some oldsters may dissagree.

I've worn many outfits and costumes in CR....especially SJ. Some of which I tried to not let members know who I was. I finally realized that one day in the BM when V-Bob yelled "Circus !!! that I could no longer be invisable. Hell I was wearing an eye patch, old uniform, earrings and pirate scarf and had grown a new beard. That hombre ID'd me and my cover was gone....at least for that time.

As Ruffnutz stated, we use to have a group of guys that met at the tables in the BM on Fridays afternoons when there were substantial CRT'ers in town. Before that, 3 or 4 in the CRS days.

Shit, now I wear a T-shirt with my name on the back. "CIRCUS." Might as well come to the point and let the buyer beware. Unfortunately, haven't found any buyers as of late among the chicas. Some of the fellows have even chided me about my T-shirt......I could care less. That's me.

In summary, CRT to it's credit has introduced a more traveler friendly venue for fellows who want to sow their oats, find adventure but still have a supportive base of others seeking the same. Nothing wrong with that....more healthier and safer. And kadoos to V-Bob for picking up the baton and aiding newbies and regulars alike with info and chat amidst the tables of the DR.

Times have changed. Unfortunately, except for the companionship of CRT'ers, few things have changed for the better. Then nostalgia creeps in to remind me when I could get a friendly and loving georgous 9 or 10 Tica for $15. No time limit. lol

YO Circus & ID Guys…

Unfortunately or fortunately things will continue to evolve in the Gulch… even in my short time, I have seen the changes…but such is life and “progress” is inevitable…

But I am thankful and respectful for those of you that have blazed the trail for those of us who have followed…

I suggest we get hats that say “not Circus” … or at least we print the word “Circus” with the international circle with a stripe through it… :D  :D

Phuck…now I need to go have a vodka…and a cigar…damm you Circus…

Mendo
