I arranged a shuttle to pick me up at the airport and take me to Sportsmans Lodge. They were right outside the terminal with a sign with my name on it - waiting for me even though my plane was early, and I was the only passenger. Cost was $6.00, and I tipped $1. The only hitch was you had to pay in advance.

Definately reccommend!

Gracias Solo, I guess you just pay with a credit card online?

You pay by credit card online, 48 hours minimum in advance (though they let me book for the next day!).

I have booked them for a shuttle to Jaco on Saturday- $19 with max 6 passengers in the van, so we won't be driving all over SJ picking up.

I'll be trying the Interbus as well on my next visit. Seems the best bang for your buck.

Excellent way to save a few bucks and avoid the 'helpful' baggage handlers out front!
I had never thought to price out interbus for an airport transfer.
Thanks

Interbus provides excellent value for the price paid...
it is a reasonable alternative between paying a private driver and taking the bus.

Both Interbus and Greyline offer the $6.00 airport transfer. I always opted for the airport taxi...but, now with $18 cab fares, I may take them up on their offer.

keep us posted on this service, sounds like a good price. Do they do pick-ups for later arriving flights?

Bluedevil mentioned Greyline, whats the deal w/ them. Any links?

I used Interbus last week to go from SJ to La Fortuna. I cannot think of one thing to bad to say. On time, driver spoke enough English to get buy. Good price, I did not know about the airport pick up, but after a long flight with layovers I do not want to ride around SJ and tour 5 or 6 hotels. I think I will continue to pay for a private cab to the SL.
