Sam,

You will undoubtedly find much discussion on this subject by doing a search. It seems that quite a few people like Canciones Del Mar, Copacabana, and Tangeri. This is just a small sampling as there are quite a number of hotels in Jaco.

Good Hunting!

I was there last night and I stayed at a pretty nice, small place for 30, i don't remember the name, but it had a nice pool and resturant, it was on the main road into jaco, but ínstead of taking the left (main drag)when you first come into town, you dont take a left, you go straight about 1 block past the laundry, almost to the beach, nice cute braless manager. The problem I had in jaco was the roadblock 1 block away on the way back, they must have been watching me as no one else was motioned over but me, I was told that if i blew over 0.00 on the breathalyzer it was a 10,000 cologne fine. I just pulled out a 10,000 note but they still wanted me to blow into it, I blew a .036, he took my 10,000 and said I could go, I didn't have my DL or my passport with and they didn't care, they just wanted my money.

Look into a place called Club Del Sol. Its not talked about alot on here (which is surprising) but its really nice and pretty new. It looks like an nice Miami type condo. Two bedrooms, kitchen, nice flat screen tv, patio, the whole nine yards. Chika friendly but guest fee. 100-150 a night if i remember correctly. Not as close as other places mentioned but about a 4 minute taxi ride to the middle of town. Jaco aint that big in the first place!

Jaco blows. The BB scene last week was fat and ugly, plain and simple. You could count the number of hot chicks in single digits. The rest were 5's and under.

Andy,
This is the peak season in Jaco, hotels are going for $100+/night in the better places. The dingy places are going for $40+. I don't think you will find anything for under $40, but I may be wrong.

My dates are the end of April. Low season is coming and prices should be cheaper. Anyway is there any cheap and chica friendly hotels recomendations?

WE stayed 2 nights @ Claritas & it was ok. Their website states that the constuction next door is finished . Thats not true , they start hammering about 7:00am & continue untill 9:00pm.Having said that the place is clean , the ac works , the food is good , the bar is fun & the bartenders & waitresses are hot .High season rates for ac rooms is $70 no ac I believe is $40.

The Copacabana is a nice place, sometimes they have live music. It has a pool with pool bar. The more expensive rooms have ocean view.

Tangeri Hotel is very nice with great air conditioning in the rooms, beautiful grounds, and right on the beach. Get a room in one of the buildings by the water. It's three blocks from the Beatle Bar and no problem bringing chicas back.

Andy, Claritas is on the far North end of the beach , about 2 blocks west of the primary road.It is a long(8-10 blocks)hot walk to any activities. You pass some very seedy tico bars , not a walk you want to make at night. Having said that , we never felt unsafe , during the day we made the walk & at night took cabs $1-$2.
