Whew .... good news to hear the bar and restaurant re-opened. I wish the new owners luck. Always liked it over there, real guest privacy (no one peering down through your vents) and great hospitality. Made plans in Nov to stay there in a few weeks from now and got worried when I saw this original post.

It would suck to stay at the Castillo and have to go to SL or somewhere else everytime you got hungry or thirsty.

Gentlemen, we need to get more women to hang out there and make it more convenient. Any suggestions?

Well, I'm glad it is open again and I hope the food is good. In early November chicas were starting to hang out there and the spot was developing nicely as a quiet mongering spot. I was also indebted to former Manager Dave. He provided some assistance by calling girls he knew and was friendly and customer oriented. I'me very sorry that he had problems. I was there the day that he ran afoul of Immigration. I suppose he had p*SSed off a local and got turned in. Dos anyone know what has happened to him? Im the short time I knew him, I counted him as a friend.

A thought I have since I stay at the Castillio is if the Bar try's to work out a deal with JR ribs which is right behind the Castillio. I have not had those ribs but have heard nothing but good and will eat them at some point in my life. I went once on a Sunday but they were closing early. Ribs are alot of work. And require alot of speacial type cooking eq. I very seldom get good ribs at a place that does not do ribs steak's and sides only.

A Rib joint.

If the new owners worked out a deal. It is something they could offer and hotel guest could have great ribs without walking out the door.

How about just starting out with good food on the menu? I've stayed at Hotel Castillo several times and found Sonny's to be lacking in service, ambiance, talent, good food, among other things. Everytime I left Sonny I felt depressed.

I finally took the walk to SL and ordered some grub, which was really good.

Yeah, what TP said. The legacy of abysmal food and service will be alot to overcome, however a wingman and I will be there on Feb 16th, so we are looking forward to at least one meal at the new place.

The reincarnation of Sonny's, "The Gardens", officially reopened yesterday. The bar has been attracting some local talent over the past week. Two good lookers come to mind: Sasha- a cute little spinner with cornrow hair and Gwendolyn- a sexy, hot brunette head case. There are a few other serviceable ladies who frequent the new establishment.

ChiTown, you must be a rib gourmet since you refer to Memphis and ribs in the same sentance!
