Orosi is SE of Cartago, beautiful area from what I've seen of it.

Bond Trader. Orisi Valley is kind of Southeast of Cartago if I have my bearings right and it is a beautiful area. I know you go through Cartqago to get there. My favorite area within an hour of San Jose for a home if I do relocate to CR is Grecia where rent and property are still very resonable and and a really nice town.rbc100

I know what you mean by Grecia. I actually looked at several homes in Atenas on my last trip which I believe is not far from Grecia. What I really like about that area is the great climate, besides the beauty. And I know with Atenas it's very well situated so that you're maybe 45 minutes to an hour from San Jose and not a long drive at all in the other direction to get to Jaco and neighboring beaches. Be back next month and will check out Orisi Valley based on your favorable comments. Thx. Guys.

I have been going to CR for 12 years I go 5 or 6 times a year. I think I would like to spend half time in San Jose and half time at beach. What kind of life can you live on $50,000 per year? Probably renting.

12 x 5 = 60 visits give or take. I would think you have a pretty good idea what you like here by now. You can buy condos in both places or buy a condo near San Jose and rent near the beach. You could rent in both places for under $1000 a month total. Many options if you have $50k a year. I bought a condo in Sabana and rent when I go to the other areas. Nice condos near San Jose from 55k to 120k - price depends on how close you want to be to San Jose.

Yes after that much time in CR it seems one wouldn't have to ask. There are guys living on half that so you could live quite comfortably but it all depends on your lifestyle. (and number of chicas)

Yeap, Grecia is absolutely lovely. And the location is great as well - close enough in to make going into town twice a week or so no big deal, but also closer to the beach as well.

Geez - if I had $50K a year to live on, I wouldn't even think twice...
