Hi guys!
Could anyone recommend me a moderated priced hotel for about 40US$ per night to stay 3 nights in San Jose. Of course since there is my 1st trip to San Jose - I am interesting to stay somwhere not so far from SJ tourist sight and also not too far from mongering places.

Thanks in advance

Andy

I think Morazan is about $40 a night, but I've never stayed there so I can't recommend it. Do a search.

Or add $15 and stay at the Presidente.

And can you tell something about the hotel named "Britania" which should be close to Zona Blue?

Looking in that price range Castillo & Hotel Inca Real both offering rates close to if not lower that what your looking for in some cases... That of course is with your CRT VIP CARD, so membership does pay for itself.

Both are clean, and for your budget more than adequate.

Spend a few extra dollars and stay at the Sportsmen’s Lodge. It’s an excellent atmosphere and very close to Zona Blue and $2.00 cab ride to the Del Ray.

If u want tosleep, forget all of those mentioned dumps downtown. unless u r living on food stamps in US==that's what those joints are for. SL ain't bad but it ain't vacation material. Too LOUD , but i am from the genre of paying 10 bucks more but be at a place your mom wouldn't say what the Phuck r u doing there . do some research and stay as far from the gulch as u can although the Amon isn't bad if u get higher floor. There are two Apartotels around Sabana, $50, my choice if u want to do it cheap but want close to what u r used to at home, and 10 minute cab ride to the gulch.

First thing you should do is become a VIP member and get some great discounts plus the maps which will save you time and money.A standard room at the Presidente Hotel is normally $85 with CRT card $56 saving $29 + tax=33.75 per night. One night almost pays for your membership it`s really a no brainer. IMHO

for most of us, it's really not that important what our moms think about our choice of hotels :P

The Presidente is my choice too. It's nice and comfortable.

Orange,
Unfortunately, I have to be concerned where my mom is going to stay. They sprung it on me 2 days ago, that they are going to CR........... I'm in a panic to try to put together a few ideas of some fun things for them to do, and places for them to go. DelRey, 747, NF, Zona Blue probably won't be on that list. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The other strange thing is that a house was just sold 2 doors down from me ( I live in CT), and the couple who bought it is an American guy and a Costa Rican girl. So, obviously, I need to know a little more about the country before they move in, and get grilled at neighborhood parties. Who knows, maybe they have more to hide than I do.........I'm just afraid my little getaway is going to be a little bit more known than rainforests, ATV, rafting etc. Might be hard to explain away 2 week long trips a year..............
Any help would be appreciated
