To all those considering staying at the Hotel Presidente, let me state that, IMHO, they are NOT chica friendly. I was fully aware that they had a dress code when I brought a chica to the hotel. I even paid her friend an extra $20 to let her borrow a jacket. She had a denim skirt on that was about 2-3 inches above her knee. I never thought this would even be close to an issue. When I got to the hotel, the doorman gave me a big hassle. I managed to talk some sense to him. However when I went to check her in at the front desk, they said her skirt was too short. I tried talking sense to them, but all he would repeat was 'we have a dress policy'. I went to Catholic school and they wore skirts much shorter than this. So, in the future, I don't think its worth staying at the Presidente, since 99% of the girls in the Del Rey would not meet their 'dress code'.

Though you all might want to know.

No, J-Mack... I gotta side with him on this. He presented the facts credibly. I don't believe that 99% of the women in the Blue Marlin would fail to pass the dress code,, but I otherwise follow his reaction. Based on how he was treated, he very well might reasonably state the Presidente is not chica friendly.

They are chica tolerant. The dress code thing has been beaten to death here,
but if the one CRT guy observes that the fashion police at the Presidente are tightening restrictions, it would be worth verifying.

Man... I swear. I'm bringing nuns' habits down and renting them for $10.00/use. I'll make enough to buy the place.

Sorry guys......I stayed at the Hotel Presidente over 25 nights and NEVER have a problem with my girl. Now granted I know they have a policy but it really is no big deal.

I have a favorite that stays with me most of the time. She comes and goes at will without any questions. Yes, YMMV....but the hotel and staff are top notch in my book.

PS....I'll be back within a month for another stay.

No, you can't just bring in any chica from the BM as-is, and after staying at the Prez for the first time over Thanksgiving, I understand why--the Prez is a rather classy place now, and yes there are gringas and eco-tourist types walking around too. Just be sure your chica has long pants and a long-sleeved top or a jacket; my regular Tica, who came directly to the Prez, was dressed like that and looked quite nice, no problems at all.

Don't challenge the holy shrine, Lurker. Any criticism against the Prez is badly received on this board. Nuff said.

This issue has been discussed way too much in recent months. The poster would have taken notice if he had done some research. Deal with it or stay elsewhere. I don't want to flame but the Prez. won't change just because some or most of us are pissed off, so move on already. Wile Coyote

I gotta say. I got mixed feelings about the Prez...hands down, I like the hotel, but I too have had run-en with the door-man over my Chica. And as I reported before, i had her registered as a guest. It really depends on what she wearing. Jeans and a full length shirt. No problem...short skirt and belly showing...problem....but as always IMHO

Ig... :P

Exactly the same thing happened to me on Saturday afternoon. The entire Presidente staff kept on repeating, we have an image to keep. We have a policy. Chics's skirt was mere 2 inches above the knees and the top was fully covered. I know when a prostitute looks like a prostitute and this one DID NOT.

I would stay at Presidente anytime. The dress code is a guideline and the enforcement is a judgment call and cannot be perfect every time. It still is a better place compared to many.

Just to clarify...Yes, I did read the board and was familiar with the dress policy. However, like others have experienced, I would never had dreamed that what this girl was wearing was in any way suggestive. To answer the question regardin 'Exactly what is the policy'? To me it looks like ANY skirt shorter than a few inches BELOW the kneee will not suffice. Before my trip, someone suggested I take a jacket AND sweatpants with me. I though he was joking.

Also, this was About 1:00 in the morning. No one else was even in the lobby, so I am not buying the image excuse. Especially since the elevator is a few steps away.

OK, 99% is a little stretch. But I think 80-85% of the girls at Del Ray would not pass, at least without a jacket. And no, I am not trying to bash the Presidente. Just trying to give others a heads-up. Isn't that what this board is about?

So, some advice: Take at least a spare jacket with you, and take notice of the length of the skirt. At this point, I don't think a pair of sweatpants is even out of the question!

I guess you could always go to your local thrift store and buy a cheap jacket to bring with you to CR for your selection of the night.

It's the same thing you find in the States. Make a guy security and he immediately is on a power trip.

I don't believe that I'm still participating in this rehash. LNM, you state your case very well, and I suggest that if the policy is being more vigorously enforced, we should know about it.

My questions for veterans and venereans alike:

Q: Has anyone tried befriending (bribing/greasing/gifting) the security staff?

Q: What about bringing the chica through the casino?

Q: Does the so-called dress code apply to foreign female guests of the hotel? I believe it does not. :?

A side note: If they're so concerned about their wholesome image, they might want to do something about the bellman ricocheting off the elevator walls with a blitzed expression on his face and giggling incoherently. I witnessed this happen twice on my recent trip, two different botones. I'd love to know what they were on. My guess would be a combo of coke and inhaled solvents.
