I just got back from SJ November 22 thru 27 and stayed at the Sleep Inn. The hotel is very nice, it is an upscale place catering more to family tourist not mongers, As for the chica fee it is $25.00 a pop and to someone posting eailer about just walking in, thats bullshit there is security everwhere (which is good). They stopped me every time, even when I would go in through the casino.

I would recommend it if the extra $10 to $15 chica fee doesn't bother you.

Hope this helps

Amazing :P ever since Barry Cohen, Mas Chica and Enforcer were outed as one in the same we have had no postings  about how there is no chica fee at the Sleep Inn

Really is a shame because based just on their location it would be a great monger hotel.

PS: How come they stopped posting :?: :)

Does anyone know that if you used your choice points at Amon whether you would have to pay the chica fee. Since the room is a comp anyways.

I'm sure you would have to pay the chica fee, they don't like mongers there much, but the way they deal with it is by charging a high chica fee. I still say it is a great hotel, new, clean and very nice. I stayed at the DR the next trip and that has is advantages staying right above the hot spot.

Just to clarify this thread has been about the Sleep Inn. The Amon Plaza is a totally different hotel. Both charge chica fees which I doubt they would waive if you are staying there with choice points. There is no chica fee at the Amon if you book through Nixon at the casino but then you would most likely have to pay for the room rather than use points.

Stayed at SI in early December 06. Being a newbie I sat with my laptop using the wireless to check my e-mail in the lobby near the desk and observe. I had earlier had some drinks at the DR and was approached by 5,6, 7's for 50. This was at 1 to 3 pm. I recognized a lovely chicafrom thje DR with a gentleman at the SI front desk. Not necesarily evesdropping...but I did hear and see him fork over the 25. Wasn't trying to be a tight ass, the next day with mine...I tried the "own the place" strategy and headed straight for the elevator. I was beckoned, went to the desk, and was asked to pony-up. I asked the clerk to look up my reservation. I had BOOKED and PAID double occupancy. He checked. They had me as single probably since I did not have a companion at check in. I told them to change it to as I had reserved it...double occupancy. The net difference was 15 bucks! What's the chance the 25's are split by the security guys in the black suits and wireless headsets and the desk clerks at shifts end.

This post I really don't understand. If you are staying at the SI why would you EVER pay a chica fee IN CASH??? If it it NECESSARY to pay one, then obviously the hotel will (and should) put it on your bill. I agree with your assumption that if cash is used then some people other than the hotel will have an extra payday.

Good call, Vegas Bob. I got a complementary chicka fee (not charged) at HDR by just telling the guy to charge it to the room. However, another time I forked over a $10 bill so there was no opportunity for a waiver/comp/employee error.

I never pay the Chicka fee in cash. I find that if I have it charged to my room it only shows up 75% of the time.
