Has anyone used Delta Mileage to Fly to CR. I just signed up for a American Express Credit Card to get the extra mileage. I have flown twice free on American Airline last year. Hopefully the extra mileage will allow me to get a free flight with Delta.

One previous (paid) flight on American to San Jose the airline did NOT credit me any mileage. They said I had a reduced fare that didn't qualify from mileage. I have flown Delta twice (once for $252 round trip tax included) and they gave me full mileage credit. I also was served meals on my Delta flight. Last time on American all I received was a small snack packet the whole trip......

I just spent 35,000 miles for round trip during Thanksgiving time. Other times, like New Years and the rest of Winter and the Spring are 75,000...

I have flown to CR three times on Delta FF points. It is 35000 round trip on their "supersaver" but those seats go fast. It costs twice as much (70000) to get most dates and times unless you book about 6 months to a year out.

Once or twice a year I use Delta frequent flyer miles to purchase a first-class ticket from New Orleans to Atlanta to San Jose. It cost 80,000 miles and I find that if I do it six weeks out or earlier I have no problem getting a seat.

Just came back from CR last week on Delta,Flew from Atl to SJO,Greta flight and customer service.How many times have you received a hot meal and a free drink(rojho Vino)?I will apply for the extra 17.5K on Monday.I have already rebooked CR for 11-28 thru 12-3 via Delta.Hoping for a positive result and no cancellation on the 9:00a.m. rtn on 12-3.
My problem is finding a good hotel ion the gulch for the first 5 da ys.Presidente is booked.Not willing to pay chica fee tp H.I.,or Sleep Inn.
