does anyone know if the Hotel La Gran Via re-opened yet, or if it ever will? I always liked staying there, the price was right and i liked the balconies overlooking the street. They always remembered my name whenever I stopped in, treated me like family.

Anyone have any insight?

I was down last week. As it has already been stated they are back open and with a new name. I don't recall the name though.... something like Hotel El something. They have airconditioned all the rooms that face the street I noticed. The old website was coming up a month or so ago with the new name etc. I do remember rooms were starting at 50 bucks plus tax.

I have stayed there 5 times. I loved the location. If they drop the rooms to 20 bucks I wouldn't go back. YOU CAN'T SLEEP THERE.

I have found Hotel Castillo to be 500 times better and cheaper than the old La Gran Via.

Berk......
