Hey Everyone,

Just got an e-mail from Continental telling me I could upgrade my flight in December to 1st class for 960.00 total from Portland, Oregon. Not 960.00 addtional, but 960.00 total. Do you guys think that is a good deal and should I jump all over it. Second thing I was thinking of staying at the Hotel Del Ray instead of the Sportsmans Lodge. Does anyone have a link to make a reservation online? Thanks and I appreciate the feedback!!!!

http://www.delreyhotel.com/ -- would be best for your first time if you don't mind a lot of noise. The SL is not far from all the action but much more subdued.
Take the upgrade, it is your flight options.

Keep in mind that after sundown you will need to taxi between the BM/HDR and the SL. Not a good walk at night - lots of trees and random streets. The SL seems to have a nice "club" atmosphere, and the owner, Bill, does some QA on the chicas there. If the bar is stocked like it has been for some in the past, you should never have to leave the SL - but you have to do the BM if this is your first trip. They always seem to have a taxi waiting at the door. First class operation.

As for the air fare, how much was the coach ticket? If it was $299, I would save the other $600 for party money. If it was $750, I might pay the extra $200. And yes, 1st Class on CO is quite nice. In three tripos, 6 flights to/from SJO, I have been in 1st on 5 of them. :D I guess they are trying to get cash out of you instead of upgrading me for free.

Yes the upgrade is only costing me 100.00 each way, so I am going to take advantage of it. Yes I think I may have to stay at the SL. Thanks for all your help!!!!!

I wouldn't look at it as a "have to" kind of thing. If the Del Rey is Central Station for guys like us who do what we do, then SL is the fraternity house. The Del Rey is a constant stream of chicas, 24/7. The SL has become the living room, dining room, bar and sleeping quarters for a bunch of like-minded adults who, for a varying lenghts of time each, get to act like college K*ds again.

Personally old Circus hasn't stayed at the DR in years.....I never could find a bed that had not been phucked in. Best take your own linen and pillow and don't let chicas come up to your room.....they may throw you on the bed and Phuck your brains out.....especially the Colombians, they're brutal.

Another warning, increasingly there are known pairs and trios of sex craven Nicas and Colonbas that have been roaming the corridors of the 2nd and 3rd floors of the DR pulling unsuspecting gringos into vacant rooms and raping them.....it's getting scarey in that bizarre hotel yet management just seems to just turn their heads to the abductions. My advice to you is to have your wingman or another gringo escort you up to your room....yeah, I know that might appear strange to the guards and other CRT fellows in the BM. BUT, better to have a few think that you a bit limp wristed than to fall victum to the horrid sexual attrocities of sex craved bitchitas. If you don't have an friend with you, just lean over and ask some mean biker looking dude at the bar if he would mind escorting you to your room....no worries mate.

In the event the front desk gives you the key to room 214 throw it back at them and demand another room. There have been eerie happenings in that room for the last several years. Sightings of a ghostly figure resembling a demented brearded gordo figure standing naked by the closet door have been reported. It is also reported that this gastly figure has been seen walking the corridors late at night smoking cigars. Please stay away from this location if you can.

Normally I would suggest that you give up the lst class upgrade and put that dinero towards staying in the 3 bedroom master suite at the top of the hotel with balconies overlooking Avenue Central. But regretfully, it has been closed for a couple of years ever since a gringo pirate named Hornswoggler and his cut throat gang trashed the place. Scores of innocent chicas....okay, not so innocent chicas were ravaged multiple times by this gang of Pacific coast marauders. If they werent fleecing the Tute tables in the casino they were boozing and enticing chicas up to this suite and fornicating all over the balconies.....yes, even during daylight hours. I know this for a fact because old Circus witnessed the debacle several times. No, I did not partake.....I have my pride and a little used 2' pecker to boot.

Step, you might want to rethink lodging at the Del Rey. It can get real ugly in that place. Best you stay at an upscale place that does not allow chicas in the room and strives to protect tourists from the wrath that's sometimes hidden in the promiscuous darken side of the gulch.

I hope that I have been of service in your lodging selection.
Please, don't thank me.
Circus

Damn Pops !!!

There you go again you demented old fool. Sounds like you're celebrating Holloween early or did you just happen to glance at your ugly mug and lard belly in the mirror.

And NO, there are no gangs of chicas molesting gringos in vacant rooms. Yea, I bet you wish there were but your sorry ass would have been thrown in the dumpster.....not in a bed.

GHOSTS ??? Shame on you for degrading one of our most respected members Dongordo. The man is a legend on this site....not a gastly figure. He just thinks the DR sucks and I agree with him.

Although I did not know Hornswoggler, I've heard he was quite a mainstay on this site at one time and that he and his buds were the life of the party at the DR. I like that. Wish he would chime in and berate your sorry ass.

You seriously need help and Mom and me would certainly like to help you.....that is to plant your deplorable body in a cheap cemetery so you can learn the true meaning of the "Dead."

BOO, you fossil fart.
Loving as always......yea, right !!

Hey Step,

Are you a One Pass member, an Elite member or something? I fly 1st class a couple weeks ago going and coach coming back. It was damn nice in 1st, especially when I had to spend an extra 4 hours in the plane on the tar mat b/c the flight was delayed. Also I could barely fit my big azz in the coach seat on the return leg.

I wish they offered me a 100 upgrade to 1st. I'd jump all over it.

Hey Step13,

I too wonder are you an Elite One Pass member? I’m a one pass member not elite and I don’t get emails like that.

I have flown Continental back and forth a dozen times from Seattle, a couple times in Business/First; Pretty Comfortable it is a long haul – the seats are cozy and the free booze would be nice now that I can’t bring too many of my own mini’s….

There is a secret to getting good seats in Coach usually around $500 tax included. Which I am not going to declare to the Internet but here is a clue: Book online and follow instructions. I consistently get an isle seat right behind the bulkhead to Business/First, or close. I like to get Off the plane once she land and not wait for dumbfucks that crammed ridiculous crap in the overhead bins.

There, I already phucked myself out of my favorite seat, but I have about $400 more bucks to spend in CR than you. Goes a long way…But, for a cien each way I think I would grab the upgrade as well. I love those hot towels and did I mention free drinks…

Suerte y desfrutar su viaje,

Yes I did way the advantages of not having the extra cien, but I said the hell with it for my first trip I will start treating myself the second I get on the plane. Too bad I do not drink, but the hot towels will be nice!!!

Sounds like you have already taken the upgrade, but I too would save the dos cien. I fly from Seattle a couple times a year on the red-eye to Houston and arrive in SJO around 12:30 for less than $500 including insurance. If you aren't a fair sized guy, get an aisle seat in an exit row and enjoy the ride (and the extra rides in SJO).

Geezzz Step 13:

Old Circus does not even get a thanks for all that valuable info I gave ya. Only person responding was my no good wise ass son. Oh well, guess I need to shut my mouth and keep my opinions to myself. Hell, won't be the first time. Certainly wish you a good triip anyway......will not bother you again with my 2 cents worth. Never could understand newbies......Oh, damn....I was one about 35 years ago. I need to get a life.
