YO Paco:
You are right hombre. Even old Circus who stays there most of the time had to get my own stuff. Partially due to a change in the staff but mostly due to no restaurant manager. As I previously posted the episode with the napkins I mentioned the hiring and training of a new manager. Katherine and Daniel state they are on this muy importante. My problem is....a few of the staff that seemed to be good at what they did for customers are no longer there and of course in the restaurant - bar business, their dismisal, which can be due to a number of things.

Hell, I'll stay there next time anyway since I have an affair with the shower head in rm. 316.....only sexual one on one for old Circus. Just wish the thing would write to me and speak sweet nothings in my email. It gets lonely in the Pits of Jax.

Greetings:

Given a choice between the Hotel Presidente Grand Spa Jacuzzi Suite for +/- $ 110 or a suite with in room jacuzzi at new Hotel M for $ 200, which would you choose and why. Thanks.

Having never stayed at the Hotel M, I cannot say. But I have a Grand Spa Suite arranged for 10/5-10/9 and will post my thoughts. I plan to check-out Hotel M, Zona Blue and Sportsmen's Lodge for future visits.

Lets see....if I stay at the Prez vs. Hotel M I will save enough to pay for a session with a DHR gal or 2 sessions at ZB.....sounds like a no brainer to me.....

I stayed at a spa suite in the Presidente and absolutely loved it. A huge 2-3 person jacuzzi was great, plus on all of my prior trips I stayed in a regular room and only had a shower. It was great to get back in the room and just kick back in the big ole tub.

Not only did I like it, the chicas loved it.

Does the Prez still have the 1 chica per male rule???

Yes. I almost got a chance to see if the rule was really one chica per registered room occupant, but the Prez did not have "my" room available. So, I have to break in the Hotel M. Wonder if it bother them if you are in the Hot Tub nekked?

And yes, the DR-Prez walk at night is a challenge, but then again, so can the taxi's. Last time Voyager2 and I had to get out a map to get to the ZB from the DR.

 Hey guys, what's a fair fare, with tip, for the 2-block ride from the DR to the Prez. :?:

Thanks guys....only reason Presidente is not a no-brainer in my mind was because I read a number of reviews on TripAdvisor or another similar site that said the walls were paper thin, place was dirty (roaches, etc).....perhaps these people stayed in standard rooms (not a suite) and/or they were non-mongers who got woken up in the middle of the nights by mongers and their novias?.....as far as cleanliness and service, anything to worry about the Presidente? I don't mind paying extra (i.e. Hotel M), but if these criticisms are unfounded, then I'll give the Presidente a shot--great looking room that Grand Spa Suite is.

Have stayed there three times and never had such problems. However, that kinda describes the Morazon. Seedy place, awkward rooms, beds so high you could rent out the space beneath, dorm room furnishings, crappy construction. And that was THEIR "Jr Suite," equivalent to the CRT VIP price of the same (in name only) at the Prez. Also saw the Jr Suite at the HDR, again about the same $85/night (at least when you add the chica fee). Not quite as seedy as the Morazon, but still no contender to the Prez. If the Morazon is **, the HDR is *** and the Prez is ****, all for essentially the same price. Plus, the Prez Jr Suite has a frigerator, free WiFi... the list goes on. No comparison.

The Prez does an excellent job. One cool thing is that once you tell the maid you need extra towels, like maybe six, they keep replacing them at that quantity. Lots of Holiday Inns can't even keep up with two. The free breakfast is very good, with eggs cooked to order. The only complaint I have - besides not enough rooms - is the dress code and the one-chica limit.

Even if the HM meets all my expectations, for mongering, I would return to the Prez for the location, quality and price.

Did not seem to get the time of day from that read, only about the meter use. I surmise that negotiating to 1,000C is a fair deal, regardless of time?

yes, a 1000 colone fee for the ride is generous from the DR to the Prez.

normal fee should be about 70 cents....1000 colones is about $2

more than enough and allows the taxi driver to make a living

it's not like they're going to get rich off a tip of $1.30

some will argue it sets bad precedent, but jeez, $2?

I don't know how these guys make a living on 70 cent fares.
