Kayak has some good fares to Columbia. Anyone that has used this service, what is your experience. Do they post a low fare and then tack on a bunch of junk fees etc.. when you purchase a ticket. TIA,Raw

Kayak is a multi-site search engine. It shows the fares and has links to where the fare is available. You don't purchase from Kayak. If you want even more sites try:

http://www.travelope.com

It's another multi-site search engine that includes Kayak (make sure you allow popups at this site. Another great site with alot of powerful search tools is:

http://www.farecompare.com

Another multiple site search engine I have used with good results is sidestep.com

I recently used it for a trip from Philadelphia to Barranquilla over the Christmas holidays. Their cheapest fare was through Orbitz. I paid over $800, which may sound like alot, but I guess it isn't really for Christmas travel. The cheapest rate I found for the same dates via Travelocity was about $250 more, and Expedia was even more outrageous. Interestingly, when I went directly to Orbitz the connections did not show up. When I linked through sidestep they did, at a cheaper rate than originally quoted.

Here is another one: www.qixo.com Found a flight there on Delta that was not even listed on Delta's site or on any of the other ones for that matter. Found it at 1 AM ...$330 RT O'hare to SJ. Booked it immediately and checked it again the next day and it had already jumped up $150 !! Something about searching super early in the AM produces some extremely good rates; dont have a clue as to why.

Ah Atlanta. That would do it.

Didnt mean to come off rude. I like having rough ideas of what costs are from particular airports since I usually have the option of flying from whichever I choose with FF miles
