Predator if you want a non-pro chica it is very easy walk around town and try to talk to the ladies some will be instrested some will not period. I have met chicas that like black men and some don't like black men. As you walk the streets half the girls will think that you are from limon anyway. Outside of San Jose your luck of finding a non-working girls increases. The most important thing is how good is your spanish a non-working girls take some work to get some ass from for the most part one trip might not be enough. bang the pros at night, game(wine and dine) the non-working chica during the day. If you're looking for a real realtionship you can find it but you will have to work for it. Good luck and don't fall in love with every girl that treat you like a king cause almost all will pros, siem-pros, and non-pros.

Spanish will be the key to your success.

GO TO PANAMA!!!! The black women in Panama City go absolutly crazy for Afro-Americans!!! I have hung-out on the long and very active Ped. Mall in the city with several black Americans, and it is NO JOKE that the non-pro local chicks fall all over these guys, while TOTALLY not even seeing me!!! I think the reason being is that they got to know and LOVE the black American military guys, and of course these guys are long gone now!! So go down there and make some of those girls happy!!! later

I got news for you guys....... Ticas love black men. I'm saying this and I'm not black. I found this out a few years back when I met a guy (Black CRican) who speaks english very well, This guy got so much action everywhere we went it was crazy. It's just like anything I guesse some girls prefer different breeds but I did notice the amount of play black guys in CR is much more than here in the US.

Also Predator, In case you haven't heard of Limon....... The majority of the population is black...... and they speak patua, which is a mix of english and french. Most black CRicas in the central vally are from this province on the carribean side of CR.

Most Ticos and Ticas I have talked to are openly racist. They will tell you flat out that they do not like blacks.

To them a white face is upper class while a black one is lower class. Typical attitude in a spanisn culture Perhaps historical in nature as the spanish had a 8oo yr war to expel the moors from spain.

Contrary to opinions expressed here Limon is mostly white although it has a much higher percentage of blacks that the central valley.

Blacks comprise a small percentage of the population in CR less than 5%.

Before the new constitution in 1949 blacks could not spend the night in San Jose.


I don't think a black guy would have much problem with the working girls but would have problems being accepted into a Tico family. Sad but true.

Many of the working girls have told me also they do not like blacks. Last night 2 of them did. But show them the money and they probably would have gone with them.

Based on what I have found from living in CR and talking to Ticos Zman is much more on the mark with his findings then Ameritico.

Most older generation Ticos are racist. The younger generation less so and the working girls still only concerned with GREEN money.

My experience has been like Zman, I have also heard many chicas make similar comments to the ones he posted. One chica explained that the darker the skin usually the lower class they view the person, "Typical attitude in a spanish culture" (?) as Z said. There is an old thread someplace on racism in CR that goes into detail, but most of the discussion was about the Nicas if I remember correctly.

Racism is alive and well in CR.... especially among the older folks, the thread has to do with ladies and I can tell a lot of young ladies like black men......

If you have been to the pueblo and have been to a club which used to be Infinito (I forgot the name of it ) you notice what I am talking about. Anyway......... Like I said a lot TICAS like black men.

As far as my earlier post it came out wrong, what I meant was:

As a Black guy I really disagree with this. I have been with non-pros and it was not extremely difficulty. I am mid-level SPanish speaker so I am sure that it helped.

Predator - no need to worry AT ALL. Many Ticas have told me that they love Brothers because they "tienen sabor." But then again it could have been a slick ass line to get me to open up my pockets.

I have been with non-pros in Manual Antonio, San Jose and, Limon. No hay problema.

Most ticas do not like black men. The reasons according to them are they are prone to violence and in general treat the girls like shit.

I have seen same and overheard many a conversation at the BM & KL which indicate the above.
