I am still debating about a new year’s trip. I know the HDR is slow but what about the bars with rooms. like Idem, Pirates, Camelot, ext. And the clubs like Kamur, Pantera Rosa, also the MP are they all open

Stay home. I was there last year from x-mas thru NY's and I would never do it again. If you can hold off till February SuperBowl weekend you might be better off. If you can't try Thanksgiving week. The chicas are out trying to make money for x-mas gifts for their families.

my last trip down in January I did some research for this next trip
every body from ADMIN 1 down said the same thing , slow ,stay away unless you have a Novia,

Ray at the SL mentioned there may be a few girls but also said that Christmas is their slow time, with rooms available.

That being said a lousy day in San Jose is still better than a real bad day in Vancouver,

I will wait and go the second week of January again, mucho girls available after the holiday.

Well for cryin' out loud what a bunch of party poopers. I was there 2 yrs. ago from Xmas to after New Years and it was one of my best trips ever. I'll never forget the New Year's Day Loser Tour- 5 horny gringos wandering the deserted streets of SJO looking for an MP open, a BM straggler, a trannie in the park, anything for fun but we all ended up in Handy's hotel room empty handed, except for our hands, a big tube of KY, and each other. I bolted after Latinoheat and Jaggedge started talking about a circle-jerk.

Yes things were slow at times but all you have to do is plan ahead and have a date lined up, I had action every night, even new year's eve. Yes the Ticas all are with family but what do you think all the Colombianas, Nicas, Dominicanas and Panamanians still in country are doing? Sitting home on their asses because things are slow, waiting for Paco to call. So Yes STAY HOME and enjoy the snow, CR sucks around the holidays!
Looks like I'll be at the Pirate Club New Year's party with all the wenches to me-self. Yo-ho-ho.

I guess the only thing you have to worry about is if the number of Gringos greatly out number Chicas.

Pacoloco make some really good points. Like I said before, how many Chicas does it take to have a good time? The place isn't going to be empty. If you have time off, if the xmas timeframe is the best time for you to go, go ahead. Anytime away from the normal is a good time for me.
