Great place to eat! It is directly across the street from OZ Hotel & Sports Bar. I went there twice this trip with ThirdWorld and had the fried fish taco on both occasions. The fish was Wahoo ( not poosie) and it was served on a large tortilla with choice toppings. They have an excellent creamy garlic sauce to go with it. There were a few other things on the menu that I didn't try. Maybe TW or someone else could give a review. The place is small with only a few tables, but I heard that OZ allows people to bring food over from Bubbas if they need a seat to watch a game or gawk at the hot bartenders. I definately recommend Bubba's to anyone heading to Jaco.

The fried shrimp taco there is like crack. Once you eat one you want one daily. Pretty simple menu: fish, shrimp, beef, and chicken tacos. Grilled or fried. You can get it in combo with rice and beans and corn.

Bubba's was very tasty! I ended up going there twice in the same day with CiaoCiao. I think the breaded fish taco is the best (I also tried the shrimp, but liked the fish taco more). If you go, just order the fish taco combo that comes with corn on the cob, rice, and beans. The tacos are big, so you only need one (and believe me I can eat a gordo meal).

Fish tacos are all over Mexico , but on my last visit to CR, they did not seem to offer the fish taco anywhere in Jaco. I thought theres a good restaurant to open in the area, a lot of fish and surfing in the area, the pescado taco it is a surfer friendly food also. Seems like a win win!

RIGHT!RIGHT!!!

Good to hear it was wahoo, that is the best fish for the taco. I will give Bubba's a try if they're still around in Nov.

I'm sure they will still be around. Took my wingman there recently. Ashford & CiaoCiao decided at the last minute to eat there too for the second time that day. Bubba's has a deal with OZ across the street so we grabbed a table at OZ near the street and they brought our food over to us. These tacos are loaded with all the extras you want. Haven't heard a bad comment about them yet.

Ashford and I went to lunch at Bubba's during our recent outing to Jaco. I assumed that these tacos would be like Wahoo's in SoCal. Wrong. While the fish and chicken was fresh and delicious, the size of the taco, served on a flour (not corn) tortilla, was enormous. The "side" dishes are so large that they are served on a seperate plate because the taco won't fit. The establishment is small (albeit large enough to house a mating pair of dogs) and clean, the help is very friendly, and I am getting hungry reading these reviews.
