I have read a lot of trip reports in july saying the bars were slow and there weren't many mongers. IS the Don Gordo bash in which CR is inundated with mongers, considered the start of the busy season, or is it
just a spike until some later month like November?

I am not THE expert, but I believe the main tourist season here corresponds to bad weather back in the US and Canada. Airfares tend to rise early in December, other factors notwithstanding. The busy season seems to start slowing around late March and seems to be officially 'slow' by May.

Opinions expressed above do not necessarily represent the views of anybody who actually knows jack shit.

Last night, Big John said to me that it looked like the slow season is over. It was very busy at HDR and KL.

According to Paul Glassman December through April is the busy season for normal tourists, and of course May - Nov. the Green season. According to CRT it's always pretty busy down there, where we hang out anyway. :)

and I believe the Gringo holidays are busy....I would have guessed labor day weekend, with the 3rd anniversary party, going on down there, probably changed the supply/ demand equation somewhat, bet you guys paid a bit more for services that weekend.
