I have used so far Skype and lately switched to Yahoo Messenger with Voice. You can now have a Phone # and the prices are very good. Most places including US, Central and South AMerica range from 2 to 5 cents a minute. I have a phone # on Skype and Yahoo without probs. All I need to carry besides my trusty laptop is a headphone with Mic. THe quality of connection has not been a problem.
