OSK,

Use the "search" function and you'll get all the information you need regarding the Del Rey and the Sportsman's Lodge (and the many other venues).

The chicas in each place are comparable, but the SL is a much smaller market.

Arm yourself with information and you'll improve your chances of getting what you really want.

Kev, listen to Tanager.

I'd like to present you with one consideration, which I call the Ground Zero factor. At the Hotel del Rey, you're right in the middle of everything. There can be nearly a hundred girls in the Blue Marlin off the hotel lobby, and it's a short trip from bar to bed. HDR offers room service and other amenities not found at the SL, but the del Rey is bigger and noisier.

The bar at the Sportsmen's closes at midnight. The bar in the del Rey is 24/7.

The sportsmen's Lodge has no casino on premises, although you'll occasionally find a friendly poker game. The del Rey casino is a happening place, although I personally don't gamble there.

Taxis are more readily available at the HDR, but can be more expensive.

The SL is more convenient to massage parlors Zona Blue and New Fantasy.

The Sportsmen's Lodge is in a much nicer neighborhood.

Hope this helps.

For the first time visitor the Hotel Del Rey cannot be beat, if you can get a room.
It is in the middle of everything with two or three bars within a few doors, women all over the place, three casinos within 150 feet and a friendly staff.

And reasonable.

And always a taxi going by outside and a tour desk inside.

And no worrysome euro eco tourist types or nasty gringas to give you a bad look.

i would suggest all first timers stay at the DR. After that I think the Sportsmen is the best place to stay. Very cool and relaxed, good girls, good food and still convenient. On your trip if you stay at the DR, go to the SL for happy hour and hang out a while and get to know the good group there. Most who stay there always come back.

I agree with BKtuna. Del Rey is a great place to stay while you are getting familiar with the area. Most of the mongers are going to go there at some point every day so there will be plenty of people to answer questions and show you who & where the good deals are. You may like it enough to stay there every trip. The SL is also a cool place, but you might feel more comfortable staying there as a vet. I would suggest meeting a fellow CRT member at happy hour in DelRey and get them to give you a tour of the hot spots , including SL. I did this and after 1 visit ( and a couple beers) booked a room on my next trip. You'll like both places I'm sure. :)
