Due to terrorists arrested today in England NO LIQUIDS IN YOUR CARRY-ON!
That includes toothpaste, hair gel, cologne, water, booze, etc, etc, etc. Pack it in your checked baggage. If you don't have any checked baggage DON'T TRY TO CARRY IT ON!
Just toss it and replace it when you get there. They are NOT allowing any so don't try.

Also EVERYONE will be forced to remove their shoes. Save yourself a lot of grief and remove them before getting to the X-ray machine. It's going to be a hassle and stress levels are high. Be cool, follow the rules and make it easy for everyone.

-- A plot to blow up aircraft flying from the UK was "intended to be mass murder on an unimaginable scale," a police spokesman says.

-- The U.S. has raised its threat warning to the highest level for commercial flights from Britain to the United States in response to a terror plot disrupted in London. According to The Associated Press, the terrorists had targeted United, American and Continental airlines, two U.S. counterterrorism officials said.

-- A senior U.S. administration official tells CNN that intelligence on the foiled airline terror plot indicates "very strong links to al Qaeda."

-- Some of the flights involved in the plot to blow up trans-Atlantic planes in mid-air would have been going from the United Kingdom to New York, Washington, D.C., and California, a U.S. government official said.

Well, according to the drive by media, there is no longer, a war going on in Isreal/Lebanon. It's too bad that they can't cover all the news. On a serious note, I hope to hear from those traveling in the next few days as to how this affects travel to and from SJO.

I guess no more duty free Stoli vodka in my carry on upon return trip.

My massage gel is now in my checked baggage.

What will be difficult is NOT having my contact lens solution in my carry on bag. I can substitute my water Delta gives me on board but it is not as effective. And I will worry about the airline misdirecting my checked bag with essential toilet items.

Twenty one more days to go until touch down.

I think the intentions of the first poster(Witling) were coming from a good place. The last two comments come close to being the most jack-ass comments about a very serious subject that I have heard on this board. Some people just need to open their mouths and/ or see their words in print. The membership does not need that level of participation.

By the lack of an icon, I don't see any membership there! I don't think a newbie with 8 posts is qualified to moderate the board.

Hmm, coming coming from a non-member, this comment is amusing.

Littleshit,
IMHO, you need to lighten up! I, for one, do not see the above comments as "jack-ass" comments. Like Gringo Malo, I too am interested to hear comments about air travel in the immediate future, and how this incident may affect us all.

In addition, many members wear contact lenses, and (as Ace stated), it's going to be a pain in the ass not being able to carry the contact lens solution in your carry-on bag!

TW,
I concur with this statement!

I hope my next twelve years living in Costa Rica are as pleasant as the last twelve living here in San Jose and Nosara. I have been on this board almost since its beginning and have enjoyed it since it emerged after the old board.

Witling posted something important..period. The rest is just not necessary. Call it less than high class.

....anyway, we don't flame on this board, no matter how many "Jack-Asses," "Jack-Shits," or "Jack-Offs" there are. We're only interested in "Jack-and-Jill" on this board and maybe a spot of "Jack Daniels."

Now be a good "Jack-in-the Box," before the moderator becomes "Jack Johnson" and boxes your ears in, or "Jack-the-Ripper," and serves up your liver with some fava beans.

Now, about terrorism in the 21st century....

LS,

My first thoughts when I heard about the restrictions this morning were the same as Ace’s… My contacts and loading up on duty free quality rum are two major concerns.

Think before you type…

...and furthermore, as a NON PAYING, NON SUPPORTING lurker to this site, you feel it's ok to post derrogatory comments towards a couple of VIP Members, who've made numerous contributions to this board ????????

Looks like you've picked the correct handle!
