It seems like all we hear anymore about the Presidente is the same old same bullshit. I kept wondering what one of our VIP members could do to give the Presidente Hotel some props. Dumb ass me, it was just 3 feet away in a folder.

Spring 2006, I have a trip planned to CR, will stay at the Presidente. Wife has a triple bypass. I contacted Mr. Vargas a day before I am due there (according to my confirmation they have to be notified 3 days in advance to cancel a room without being charged for the first nights stay) and told him about her emergency bypass. He released my room........NO FEE for the cancellation. He had every right to charge me for the first night.

June 2006, I have a trip planned to CR, will stay at the Presidente. I had major dental surgery done 8 days before the trip, however I develop a complication called a dry socket. I am on 4 vicodans every 4 hours and 4 advils every 8 hours. I made 3 trips to the dentist to make things work out, but they suggest I cancel the trip. Another email to Mr. Vargas, another cancellation, another sympathetic answer from Mr. Vargas, and another NO FEE for the cancellation.

As far as I am concerned, this man wants my business or he would have legally charged me on both occasions.

They have been pretty good about the cancellation thing. Had to do it once myself and they were cool about it. Castillo has been the same way in the past.
