Thanks for admitting you made a mistake about my being a member, Admin, and I assume you can also see I have made many posts that are not about the Presidente. I tried to change my avatar but was not able to, so that is perhaps why it did not show up that I am a VIP.

The hat is not an issue now that I know it was a perk officially no longer offered as part of their association with CRT.

I only brought it up in the first place because I thought it was yet another example of their hypocrisy in giving discounts to CRT yet at the same time creating this Draconian dress code policy.

I will continue to badmouth the Prez to people due to this clothing policy, but will try to refrain from doing so, here, unless someone else starts the topic and I feel compelled to defend their position.

As to those who say "stop whining", "move on", etc... all I can say is, "What would have happened if people like you had been around during the revolution or during the Viet Nam war protests?" If you don't bitch about stuff sometimes, then things don't change. Sometimes it takes some pressure against a situation to resolve it for the better. I realize the Prez's dress code is not a BIG problem in the grand scheme of things; but it would be nice if we had another option for a nice place to stay in San Jose' and I feel they have turned against us mongerer types.

I was busy with many other things in CR when there for the week, and in reality the Prez did not present a problem to me, except when I had breakfast there and found their eggs to no longer be cooked well like they used to be. I spent no more than 3 minutes stopping in there to ask about the cap, which I mistakenly thought was still a perk. So it's not like I spent a lot of time dealing with or thinking about the Presidente Hotel.

However I still discourage people from staying there, based on their chica clothing policy.

But........will we listen?

Like admin1 and some others, I am damn well sick and tired of pres. this pres. that, and all the pres. bashing. Life is about choices, either stay there or don't. It isn't rocket science.

Myself, I am going to stay there, and unless things are really phucked up, you won't hear a bitch one from me. I have read all about the pres., both good and bad. I have made a choice. When all the bills of the trip are paid and my ass is back on the plane heading home, the pres. will have been outstanding, mediocre, or bad. Either way I have been warned and have made a choice.

Yep. and my choice is not to bash or support the hotel with this post. The hotel is popular with many members on this site. This is about how we deal with each other. I have a few questions... First, to those who are annoyed with the bashing. If it bothers you then why keep reading those threads? Repeatedly telling guys to stay elsewhere does no good and it brings the thread you're so sick of right back to the top. We all know we have other choices. 2) Are there establishments in CR that are so special that no member should have the right to make negative comments about them? There shouldn't be. 3) When the time comes that YOU feel the desire to express your displeasure about some place ... is it okay for others to basicly tell you shut-up already? If thier buddies or "fans" want to jump on the bandwagon and admonish you for your opinions , is that cool too? No matter what your opinion on the prez is , it dosen't justify being nasty to each other. I hate to see something like this get ugly. None of us have to respond to every single thing we agree or disagree with. Hopefully the next time an issue like this one arises we can discuss it without coming down on each other. See you guys in a few weeks.

Hey, for what it's worth... Every time I stayed at the Prez it always felt like I was getting screwed on a daily basis... But I thought that was a GOOD THING!

I am done with this thread; sorry I started it; it was based on wrong information in the first place (that the free cap deal was still in effect).

I apologize for starting the thread based on wrong info.

However, I do agree with whoever said something to the effect of "what is wrong with complaining about something you find wrong or distasteful and feel should be changed"? If you don't like the Prez threads, I suggest just not reading them. Meanwhile if someone has a legitimate gripe about them, I say let them post!

As for me, I doubt I will start another thread on the Prez, thank you very much.

Getting back to my first sentence/question, there is no reason we should fight about this. Either you like the Prez and think their policy is okay, or you don't like them and think their policy sucks. Either way, we should be able to "agree to disagree"! It isn't a big deal, not worth fighting with each other over.

OH MY GOD, I HAD NO IDEA THAT PEOPLE WENT TO COSTA RICA FOR THE EGGS AND OMELETES. I WAS GOING THERE FOR THE CHICAS. WHAT THE HECK WAS I THINKING? LOOKS LIKE I NEED TO GET MY PRIORITIES STRAIGHT.
