We all know about how the Prez says they have no chica fees yet pick and choose who is allowed to enter their establishment based on some misguided sense of morality and decency. Some hot sexy chick is refused entry but some fat American chick with her big fat cow tits hanging out is okay....To me, the fat chick is much more offensive!

But now they also do not honor their free "News Cafe" cap agreement. Or did I miss the post that says they no longer provide this to CRT members?

I went over there after breakfast at the News Cafe, and asked in the cafe' about the free cap. They knew nothing about it.

I went over to the desk in the hotel and the guy said, "Sure, go upstairs to the office". I did so, and the woman there said, "Oh, yeah... Sorry, we don't have any."

I said, "Are you going to be getting any in the near future?" She said she didn't think so.

It's not just the baseball cap. I don't really need one anyway. It's the principle of the thing. First they start refusing entry to our guests, now they don't even give us the baseball cap they promised us.

By the way, their breakfast buffet even sucks, now, too. I used to love it. Now they do not have the guy there to cook your eggs how you want, so they just take your order at the table and deliver it. I ordered an omelette with cheese and onion and tomatoes and first of all the thing was so small it was ridiculous. Secondly it was not cooked right, it just did not taste like an omelette at all. I used to LOVE their omelettes. I told the waitress the omelette was not good and ordered some revueltos (scrambled) with onions and tomatoes. Those also were not very good.

I'm DONE with the Prez! Hope you are too!

I also made a trip to the Prez to try out the breakfast I had read often about, and was...unimpressed. This was early July. You're right they obviously don't understand what an omlet is or how it's cooked...it was terrible. I will say that the rest of the buffet was pretty decent. Overall I felt it was not worth the price and disappointing... Nice view though!!

FYI...the Amon Plaza also provides a buffet style breakfast as part of your room fee. And they provide a cook who prepares your eggs as you like them right at the buffet table.

I was comtemplating staying at the Prez for my next visit... :?

Let me see, first off, NOTHING SAYS anything about the News Cafe honoring a Cap... That has long since been removed from the sponsors page, VIP page etc... Even when it was in place the request had to go to the second floor an see Maria & Wendy for the cap, but its over 1 year they no longer give caps.

LAST BUT NOT LEAST Since your not even a VIP why are you stirring up trouble where non exists. Here you are going to ask about a cap that your not even entitled to.

Every post you have written is some sort of negative one regarding the Presdident & your asking and expecting discounts and other but you don't even support this site. Then you take the time to state your done with the Presidente hope you are too.. Reminds me of someone else a long time ago whos name will remain nameless.

Time for you to either Wise up or head elsewhere as I have no time to respond to rants by members such as you and I'm tired of your chatter.

Wow, touchy subject I guess...

First of all, I said in my post that maybe the cap policy had changed and I was not sure. Thanks for setting me straight. I recall reading about it on the sponsor page but maybe it was some time ago. Guess I was wrong about that, but was only trying to point out what I saw as them not honoring their agreement with CRT. Guess I should have double checked the policy before writing. My mistake, I was reporting from memory.

Not sure what you mean about my not "supporting this site" or not being a VIP? I paid to join. Is there more I need to do?

I admitted I was wrong about the Prez cap policy. Now I hope you will admit this statement you made is wrong:
"Every post you have written is some sort of negative one regarding the Presdident & your asking and expecting discounts and other but you don't even support this site."

I have posted a number of other posts on this forum in the past that are not about the Prez. And I do support this site, I paid for the discount card, and I used it last week, thank you very much.

Yes, I am unhappy about the Prez's policy. I think it's hypocritical of them to say they are sponsors of CRT and strike a deal with "us" but then have such an anti-chica policy that is not even enforced consistently and fairly ACCORDING TO OTHERS' POSTS ON THIS FORUM based on their first-hand experiences. I really don't see how others do not see this as hypocrisy.

I am not trying to cause trouble, I was only reporting what I found out while in San Jose'. The fact that the cap policy is no longer in effect is something I was not aware of. IF the policy had been in effect, my post would have been relevant.

YO Mig Bla:

Are you worried about a damn cap. What a cry baby. Geezzz, you've got a lot of time on your hands. You are in for a rude awakening with other hotels in CR considering the the overall service that is offered. Yes the Amon is nice but as all places of lodging have their faults . Get a grip and try to not be so cynical.

In my experience with this site when you are a paid member your handle is identified with a certain avatar. You don't have one Mig Bla, so you either are not a paid member or your payment was so recent that the Admin has not had time to update your profile. The Admin is pretty efficient. 8)

Give me a break guys,

There are people dying on the other side of the world on an hourly basis
Who cares about a lousy Baseball cap !

I stayed at the Prez for two weeks and did not bother to even ask.
There was more important business on my schedule.

Last time I was there the breakfast was just fine, Better than the SL
for sure.

I just don't get it why there are a few that just can't stop themselves
from picking a fight with the Prez.
Or is it a bit of the Ugly American attitude surfacing ?

I don't want to even start that topic but if this is it takes to get you going ?

You no like, move on......

I get this nimby bitch bitch in my home town on a daily basis already,
You can always find somthing to complain about if you want to be childish.

I cherish my new vacation destination, being San Jose and Costa Rica.
with it's faults and pluses.
And the fine establishments available.

I don't wanna hear about trivial crap.
I know there are others with the same opinion.

Fiedler.

Thank you for clarifying your remarks. I will also clarify that MB is a paid VIP, he changed his avatar and since non outside the boundries are permitted it showed up as nothing.

I am man enough to admit when I make a mistake. Now lets get past the hat issue since its not an issue at all.
Thank you.

I will also refrain from uncivil remarks concerning the Presidente.

It is a nice hotel.

I enjoy and respect all the contributors on this site.

Now, as an aside, for all those reserving rooms this upcoming Labor Day, it would perhaps be a good idea to email all the female staff on August 15th and wish them and their mums a Happy Mother's Day.

A little bit of sugar goes a long way.

After 12 days in Edmonton and Calgary on business, let me just say that the Presidente is a bargain and a well run establishment.

Up there in Canada, they are at full emplyment. The poor doles that work at the hotels, whether is is maids, clerks, waitresses, cooks, etc. - cannnot cut it. 20 minutes to check out, restauraut not open but four hours a day, maid service (if at all) is not good, showers don;t work, etc - and this is all for $ 150 per night.

This place (Presdiente) is awesome and an upgrade. If a ballcap is the best you got, my assertion is backed up.

By the way, any of you who are in touch with Handy will soon hear him bitch about the conditions in Canada - they are breaking from the stress in Edmonton. ...
