I am in Costa Rica Now with my Toshiba Satellite Computer that I bought at Christmas this year. It is lower end. Celron Processor 1.50 GHZ, 192 MB RAM. CD burner, DVD player, Windows XP, WiFI, etc. I am thinking I would like something nicer and wondered if it would be advantageous to me or a buyer to sell it here. Any thoughts? I am at Hotel Presidente till Wednesday.

Roy, that laptop is like the kind of hotel rooms I frequent.

Low Rent.

Please, don't sell it to anyone you like.

Preferably, give it away to one of the street thugs as punishment.

C'mon, you paid about $500 (after rebates) for this piece of crap and now you realize that it is only good for checking emails (as long as they don't have any attachments).

What are we gonna do with you?

Even VB knows better.

Yes, CaliforninicationaDude, it is a lower priced computer. Which is why I thought there might be a better place for it here in Costa Rica. Not everyone can afford (or needs) as many bells and whistles. It is good as a first laptop but, I have my eye on a new and much pricier computer.

I never mentioned a price for my computer. I know it's a cheap computer and it would be priced accordingly. I paid $400 after rebates at Best Buy. Again, this thread was meant to be about the opportunity for someone in Costa Rica to be able to buy something that they may not be able to find and/ or afford otherwise. Not to compare my cheaper computer to expensive computers. If I had a $2000 computer for sell, I wouldn't be wasting my time chatting about it on this board.

Thanks for the advice from the Board, including Private Messages. I had no idea the value of this type computer would be so little. I think I will hang on to it till I get a replacement in my hands. Then, I may take the advice to trade with a Del Rey Hottie needing for her RFM. Thanks Again.

there are half a dozen along the pedestrian walk way.

I like the one across from the National theatre that is also a laundry mat.

you can wash your clothes, have a drink/bite to eat and surf the net for about 1 dollar per hour.

and most of the major hotels have wireless if you bring your laptop or provide workstations to surf the net.

the HDR charges for the wireless signal

and I'm told it is not much of a signal, maybe good for email.

but now you got me thinking, is there anything at the HDR those guys don't charge extra?
